The Best All-around Lure
The Five of Diamonds has been slaying fish for decades. It's known in the north as a pike and musky killer, but it's extremely effective on many more fish including: Pickerel, salmon, yellow and white perch, crappie, large and small mouth bass, gar, and even trout. If I could only have one lure in my box, this would be it.This particular model is the 2/5 OZ "Imp." It comes with only two hooks on the treble hook, which I guess makes it a 2/3 treble. The spoon action is better with this particular weight and hook combination. Other sizes have true trebles. The Imp is about three inches long, making it perfect for most pickerel and perch, but larger fish will go for it as well, so you might want to consider a steel leader for pike. If you get one, you'll need two because your fishing buddy is going to be jealous.

Used, opened package, and broken
NOT HAPPY!!. I bought this lure because I wanted the name brand and not a cabelas knock off. When I received the package it was taped shut from being opened before, and only has 2 out of the 3 hooks on the treble hook. Doesn't even seem like the original treble hook that comes on Eppinger spoons. It doesn't say anything anywhere about this product being anything less than new.

This lure has been catching fish for me since the 1950s as a young, eager angler.
The original Dardevle spoon often copied by cheap imitations that don't have the action of the Dardevle. I consider this lure a mainstay in my tacklebox. The 1/8 and 1/4 oz. I use for smaller trout, bass, pickerel, etc. The 2/5 oz. size is perfect for larger trout, northern pike. I have had excellent results with the 2/5 oz. casting for Lake Ontario trout and salmon. Favorite colors on overcast days or murky water: yellow/red diamonds, black/white stripe, chartreuse/red spot, fluorescent orange/black spot; sunny days or clear water: nickel, brass, hammered nickel/blue, hammered nickel/green.
