It is very plastic.
This book stand is only good for lightweight books. It will topple over with any book too heavy. It's very plastic and I didn't feel it was worth the trouble fiddling with it getting it to stay upright, or that it would last long.

Love itttt
I assembled it right before i started studying. Super quick and easy. I had to use the wrench to adjust height and all but since I'll be using it for the one book it won't need much changing. It felt so nice to not hunch over the book and just look straight ahead at the text. Since the book is high up enouhh from the desk, I was able to comfortably take notes! #totallyWorthIt

Will fit many common book types, but not all
Initially, I got this hoping that it would be a convenient way to display sheet music on my desk rather than taking up floor space with a music stand. This will do that, but only barely; the edges of the book overhang on either side, too far for the clamps that keep the book and its pages in place to really be useful (see picture). You're likely to encounter the same issue on larger-format books, such as certain cookbooks. That aside, I like this stand. Assembly was simple, the construction durable, and it fit most of the rest of the books with which I tried it, plus each of my three tablets. The only feature I would've liked to see (aside from a version with a wider width) would be a notch in the base of the shelf that could accommodate a charging cord, since some phones and tablets leave this on the bottom, making the shelf impractical to use while charging a device or using it in portrait mode.

Excellent 4 cookbooks & art, small footprint, expandable clips. Thicker books need spacers.
Update 6 months later: We keep this on the counter and still use it all the time! When we're not using this in the kitchen, we've put this cute little holder on other surfaces holding art. But most of the time it's on our kitchen counter because (a) it doesn't take up too much space and (3) it's very convenient at keeping a book or booklet or printed recipe up and out of the way.We tried another cookbook holder, but the stand was huge and took up most of the counter, so it was easier to just lay the book down. This one is much more practical. The sides expand, as the picture shows, and you can see the dimensions in one of the pictures, both expanded and in the inner location. One problem we had was with a thick hardcover book (Microwave Gourmet, by Barbara Kafka), which as you can see needed credit cards to extend the clips otherwise the book would close. But this is a limited problem and easily fixed.Highly recommended!

Great for studying
I ordered this book stand for my daughter to put her large textbook on so that she has an easier time studying. Assembly was simple and took only a few minutes to get the height adjusted to where she wanted it. What’s cool about this stand is that not only does it save her neck, it also ended up freeing a lot of her desk space. Her book is pretty large and thick, and this stand has no issues supporting it. With this, my daughter has had a much more comfortable and productive time studying for her courses in college than before. I highly recommend one for any kid in school. My daughter loves it!

No Complaints Here
This is one of the easiest setup I've ever experienced. It's just one simple screw to secure the stand to the desk feature. Aside from that, I found the stand very sturdy with a clean design. I love the versality of the stand provides and also that the neck can be adjusted as you see fit . The clamps can extend to accommodate paper recipes to books to even a tablet. So much more reliable and convenient when cooking. Storage is a snap and easy with a simple fold down of the unit. Definitely a find and highly recommended.

Holds heavy books and tilts
The media could not be loaded. Easy set up, holds heavy cookbooks without tilting over but sometimes you have to adjust the feet of the stand to support the weight. Pics show different sizes of books. Some books may be too wide to fit in the clamps but can still sit on top of the stand. I do wish the clamps would move individually but they move simultaneously. (See video) Great that the clamps are see through though. Good heighth to keep cookbook closer so you dont strain your neck.

Very good quality
I like this book/tablet stand. It has clips to hold the book/tablet in place. You can tilt the stand to adjust the angle and height. The tension of the pivot is adjustable. Life is much easier with this stand.

Aceptable
