CompTIA A+ Complete Study Guide: Core 1 Exam 220-1101 and Core 2 Exam 220-1102 (Sybex Study Guide)

I am wanting to learn Cisco Networking and I bought this book to help give me a better understanding for networking. And my god its packed with details. This book has the ins and outs to so much technology. Would recommend if your getting into IT stuff

I like this book very much; it is thorough, covers all the objectives and also provides additional info that is useful to know if you want to work in IT. I`ve studied from this for the Core1 and passed the exam on the first attempt. I`ve also watched some online video tutoring materials but found them lacking. Having access to mock exams also helped me a lot in preparing. The only thing I find a bit odd is the placement of pictures in the book - sometimes you have to turn a page to view a pic related to the previous 2 pages but this is an editing issue. The book itself has review questions at the end of each chapter and it also provides access to an online test bank. All in all, I am happy I chose this book. Now preparing for the Core2.

I have used their ITF+ study guide and it helped me to pass the exam first time. This book is huge and split into 2 sections for each part of the A+ exam which follows the same format as the previous one. I will use this and some on-line resources like before that I found on YouTube (Professor Messer to name but one) to get prepared for the exams. Useful digital resources included with the book as well which include test banks and flash cards.

Used the ITF+ book beforehand by the same author and passed the exam first try, so saw no reason to not buy this book too. It seems decent but chapter 6 on TCP/IP is very poorly written. It is lacking in a lot of context and the explanations are not clear and are often contradictory. The rest of the book has been good however, though I have only reached chapter 7 as of this review.

This is a very good and very informative book. Only problem I have is that it’s written in such a way that it makes me want to full asleep.

Item arrived damaged. There is a massive crease all the way down the back cover and some of the pages are creased. Looks like someone has already used it and sent it back!!!!!

It has a lot of content and the material is easy to follow with a logical progression. I have to say I found the part covering Core 1 more accurate than the part covering Core 2, but overall I would absolutely recommend this book!

The content in this book is great and will help you for the exam. But I suggest getting the Ebook instead. The book is massive. It probably could be split into two large books itself. If that doesn’t bother you then power to you!
