Fun to Read (with cool bonus features)
Welcome to the Crystal Empire is basically the same thing as Welcome to Equestria. Same look, same size, same art style (using scenes from the show plus some original scenes), both are written by Olivia London. If you read Welcome to Equestria you pretty much know what to expect. In Welcome to Equestria, Shining Armor and Cadance send postcards to Twilight about places they visit in Equestria. In Welcome to the Crystal Empire Twilight sends postcards to her friends about what she does and sees in the Crystal Empire. Shining Armor and Cadance just want Twilight to visit and Twilight just wants to see them alone because they've never been really together as a family. So, she goes alone but promises to take her friends next time (she sends them all postcards at least though). The timeline for this book takes place after the Season 3 Crystal Empire premiere with King Sombra (obviously) but BEFORE the Games Ponies Play episode where they try to get the games inspector to choose the Crystal Empire for the Equestria Games. So, no Twilicorn. There's also two My Little Pony themed postcards at the end. One shows Cadance with all of the Crystal Empire behind her like she's in the air and says "Wish You Were Here!" The second shows both Shining Armor and Cadance with an outside view of the Crystal Empire and says "Greetings from the Crystal Empire!"So yeah, despite being a fun read, I think this is a must-buy for any brony because of the postcards. (Besides, it's only like 2 - 4 dollars)

Mandatory for pony loving little girls
My daughter loves this book and loves to hear more about Shining Armor and the crystal empire. I gave this 4 stars because the epistolatory text (letters rather than narrative text) is lengthy and not very engaging for a toddler (and I imagine even an older kid would have issues) and a niggling point--the author writes entirely in present tense, which doesn't really make sense when writing letters about activities that are over. Another point was that most of the pictures appeared to be reused from stills from other shows and were not developed new for the book. But my daughter loves hearing more about Princess Cadance and Shining Armor.

Good book, fun postcards.
Cute little story book. Princess Cadence and Shining Armor invite Twilight Sparkle to come to the crystal empire and visit them. In the book, you can read the letters Twilight sends to her 5 friends and Princess Celestia. In the very back, it comes with two postcards, which I thought was cute. It's easy to read as well. The only thing that I don't like is that the beginning is the exact same as the "Welcome to Equestia!" book. But that's just a minor flaw. Overall fun, simple book for any MLP fan.

Cute little book
Such a cute little book, A good deal of the artwork within is re-used vectors from the show, but I was happy to see some unique artwork as well. The included postcards are quite a nice treat as well (Not that I'll ever likely actually use them. lol) If you like the Crystal Empire in MLP I'd suggest this book to you,.

It is an easy reader book
It is an easy reader book. But my daughter is obsessed with MLP so I bought this. It is a standard paper back book and a good price if you can get free shipping with it.

Good
My daughter is a new reader and she likes the My Little Ponies. If it makes her want to read on her own it is good.
