Do not cut
Like an expose on bad medicine. One wonders how they got away with such practice for so long. Know a good lawyer?

~~A stitch in time....!!~~
'A stitch in time saves nine ' or so the old expression says but what is the real cost to the patient? In this novel, Dr. Viktoria Thorsdottir is on a one month assignment at the Amour Cosmetic Surgery location. Strip mall location which has 6 OR's. Right off the bat, she thinks this is quite the 'operation'.The sleuth in Dr. Viktoria emerges soon after her arrival. Dr. Rigoberto Costillo is her 'boss' and appears to be pushing another agenda in addition to the tummy tucks and the eyelid jobs.I loved the knowledge of plastic surgery that is given in this novel. I had no idea about the 'how' these procedures were done. The medical portion was fascinating to me.One other item I truly enjoyed was the descriptive language this author uses throughout the novel. One example is the maple trees in the yard. Truly excellent.Medical procedures coupled with some shady personnel make this an intriguing and excellent read. Characters are well defined, nice plot and the sleuthing abilities of Dr. Viktoria all contribute to the fascinating glimpse into the field of plastic surgery..Most highly recommended.

A series I hope will continue
Being a retired RN, worked in the OR, I was able to relate with OR life. I wanted her life to go on, but suspected it was coming to a close, when she decided to go back to Iceland. I did find 2 errors around page 181, when it mentioned Rick, when it should have been Jeff. The novel was easy reading, it had a couple of surprises, but a story that one was able to go back to without difficulty. The spelling of their names was odd, but maybe something to do with the language from Iceland. I recommended the book to daughter who visited Iceland, who loved the adventures she experienced there. Yes, I would recommend this book to read.

Another great story
Dr Viktoria takes a temp position in a local plastic surgery clinic and discovers horrific issues . In meantime, her marijuana addicted husband, instead of quitting, gets worse . So sad.A couple of typos , not as bad as the previous book , which was also a terrific medical sleuth story .

I Could Not Put This One Down
Tennessee, dogs and surgery are things I can relate to. I want to contact Dr. Ebel about some ideas that I hope she will consider writing about. Truth IS stranger than fiction. Things have happened in my life that would be worthy of her penning.

Two comments, the first complimentary, the second not so much ...
I enjoyed the story: Doctor Ebel writes well, and the novel flows easily. However, the proofreading and editing are disgraceful: a seventh grader with an excellent vocabulary and a medical dictionary could have done a better job.I surely hope the publisher will find an editor for the good doctorโs next book who will enhance her intelligent, thought-provoking writing, rather than distracting from it.

Not enough mystery
More focus needed on the mystery and less on personal life of characters. More medical details would have made it more interesting
