Excellent bit, perfect for cutting plywood circles
I use these to cut circular openings in the 3/8" Baltic birch plywood, using Ridgid compact router and Rockler circular cutting jig. To my surprise, I am able to cut the circle in one pass - at full 3/8" depth and highest RPM - without the router bogging down. After a completed cut, the bit is still cool to the touch. The edge quality is very good, needing almost no sanding - see the photo. In fact, this one gives me a better quality than the Whiteside spiral up-cut bit which I also own: the up-cut bit produces some splintering; I haven't tried the down-cut bit though. Subjectively, this Amana bit also moves through the plywood smoother, perhaps having to do something with their "superior geometric" design, but that's up for interpretation.Considering that it's a little cheaper too, you can't go wrong. All in all, highly recommended.

So far, so good.
I've only used it a few times. It seems to work great. It is very sharp and carbide tipped. I expect a long tool life.

Not exactly what I had in mind for a plunge cutter.
I bought this cutter as I had a need for a shallow, FLAT bottomed relief. As you can see from my picture that it is shallow, not exactly flat bottomed. I only needed to go about the thickness of a dime. This looks like it will plunge further down OK but it will never produce a flat bottom until it is moved.Didn't give it a 1 star because it is sharp and will likely produce some very nice dados and rabbets. Guess I will keep shopping, finished this project with a 1/2" spiral.EDIT (6/12/2010) - OK, my initial review was mostly based on it being advertised as a plunge bit and it obviously was not. Still docking 'em a star for that one.In all other aspects though, it has been a 5 star performer. It is now my "go to" for small rabbetting and dado's. Mostly in plywood and MDF to boot. Has kept a decent edge through that junk mixed into those stocks these days. I have yet to figure out what "in spec" means when it comes to router bits. I suspect it is something like nominal +.000 -some number. This calipered out at .7485, which is glue line territory and more than close enough for me.

Excellent Bit but fragile
The bit cut very well and the diameter was accurate. Beware of router startup torque while the bit is near the stock to be cut; I snapped one bit very easily. The bit is only 1/8 inch in diameter; couple that with a cutting edge leaves little metal to support the bit; as a result the bit can be easily broken.

Worked great!
Bought this to cut channels for weather stripping in some 60 year wood double hung windows. The windows were pretty neglected. I restored the wood with the BLO-Pentine method and filled in the rotted areas. I won't say it was like a hot knife through warm butter, but it was not far off. No drift or burning. Highly recommend!

Quality as always and reasonable price
Bought for T&G flooring, really couldn't find this 13/64" size from other reputable brands.

Top quality bit, but not 100% solid carbide
Very sharp and well made in Israel. Just for the record, the cutter tip is solid carbide but the shank is not. That appears to be HSS. When I read the title that said "Solid Carbide" I assumed it was 100% carbide, as is the case for some other 1/4" shank bits that I have. Not so. Just a point of clarification for anyone who makes the same assumption.
