Perfect for Mountainbiking!!
This "dual" use helmet is exactly what i have been looking for!Heading up hill on a mountain trail or the steep slopes of Dartmoor you can remove the chin guard for a more pleasant climb up! But when wanting to drop down those nice fast slopes you just bung on the extra protection and get cracking. Its expensive maybe, but head protection is key!

It works and it looks cool
The helmet is super lightweight and breathable, even in the near 100F heat we have been getting. For me, it fits true to size, it's adjustable, and the facemask is easily detachable yet sturdy. It's saved my head once already in a moderate 10mph crash taking it easy on some pine straw. My head hit the ground despite my best effort to catch myself and I am SO glad I had this helmet on! Please remember, all the gear, all the time! For my EUC riders out there, I highly, highly recommend a pair of wrist guards and knee pads as well - at a minimum. My only gripe is I don't see a DOT safety rating, otherwise, 10/10.

Awesome helmet, great coverage, comfortable and light weight.
Fit right on first try so got real lucky there. First ride and it sits tight without constriction. Lightweight enough that it 'disappears' when riding. High quality as you might expect from Bell. A bit pricey, but function is as good as it gets.

Easy to remove and attach the face shield
I have not used a face guard before, but after a concussion crashing my mountain bike I needed to protect my face a little better. Not sure how strong the shield is and hopefully won't test it out. Helmet is light and comfortable more so without the shield, but not too bad even put together.

2 helmets in 1
I’m 54 and by no means a hard core rider but after 2 falls and a bruised chin I upped my safety game. I haven’t worn a full face helmet since my motorcycle days. It took me about 2 minute to get used to the full face. I don’t even really notice it anymore and it has helped build confidence on the fat bike. I don’t do anything crazy but definitely get a little more aggressive knowing I’m wearing a really good helmet.I got it because the face guard is removable. Now that I’ve been wearing this full face, I don’t really feel the need to ever remove the guard. Also comes with GoPro/ light mount which I will use for winter night rides.

Light, well vented, and comfortable
We got this because of our current helmet - a MET Parachute - was damaged in a crash. We initially purchased a Fox Racing Rampage Helmet to try to save some money; it is about half the price of this helmet and the MET. However the less expensive Fox was noticeably heavier, warmer, and tighter on the cheeks and, overall, felt claustrophobic. This helmet, the Bell Super 3R seems well reviewed, as far as I could tell, on the internet and I took the plunge (the MET is no longer sold in the US). As soon as we opened it, it was clear it was a much nicer helmet. Light weight, nice ventilation, and a nice fit. The size adjustment with the back wheel and the removable face guard are big plusses and I like the fact that there is slip between what is on your head and the helmet itself to reduce head twist during a crash.Although expensive, the additional cost is match by very nice features and I am happy to pay the difference.
