Pretty great
The coffee maker arrived pretty well packaged. Some assembly was required, but it was pretty simple. I ran it a couple of times with filtered water to clean out dust or stuff left behind in the manufacturing process, then I decided to make my first pot of coffee on it. I don't have a scale to measure out the exact amount of coffee to use, so I followed the instructions which said 7 scoops for 10 cups of coffee. This turned out to be a little too much, my coffee came out way too strong. But it smelled and tasted better than any coffee I'd ever had on my Cuisinart brewer. I love the aesthetics of the Moccamaster, it's kind of retro. It all feels very sturdy, even the plastic has a solid feel to it, nothing feels loose or out of place. It's smaller than I'd expected, but that's not a bad thing. Honestly, so far I'm pretty impressed. I'd definitely recommend it if you're okay spending a lot of money on a well built coffee maker with a great reputation.

For the Fancy Coffee People and The Usual Coffee People (with a caveat)
For the fancy coffee people: If you enjoy a consistent, easy-to-make, really good cup of coffee, this machine is great. It consistently hits the Specialty Coffee Association's target temperature of 195 degrees F-205 degrees F. I have used Aeropress and another pour over. This is easier for multiple cups. I still find its helpful to do a stir, kind of like aeropress, but its not absolutely necessary. For the usual coffee people: Style of this machine is good, the plastic parts are well built and can easily be replaced, unlike most brands. While the moccamaster can make any ground coffee taste a little better because of the temperature of the water and the fountain head, it does stop short of the miraculous. It will not make the really cheap coffee taste much better. Apart from aesthetics, consistency, and ease, this product would appear to be overpriced. If you do eventually find yourself buying some good specialty coffees, this machine would be very helpful to pull out the many flavors of those coffee beans.

Love this Amazing, fast and smooth Coffe Maker <3 <3 <3
I got rid of my Breville Brewmaster Precision Brewer and replaced it with the Moccamaster KBGV Select. I couldn't be happier. First and foremost the brewmaster allowed for setting the temp but never made a cup hotter than 136 degrees unless you brewed a half carafe or more (approx, 32 ounces). Granted, the Brewmaster is bigger but what is the point of having a temp setting if it doesn't work. I wasted a ton of coffee just to get something hot (and no, the microwave ruins the coffee). This beautiful unit however can brew a single cup at a piping 186 degrees within 4 minutes; and it tastes great! The only downside is that you have no control over the bloom. Basically blooming is soaking the beans for a set amount of time before releasing to the carafe. I typically bloom for about 30 seconds. But here is a trick, start the brew before putting the carafe under the maker and you have a poor man's bloom! I never wait long enough to have it overflow over the top. This is pretty much unnecessary on this coffee pot as the coffee comes out great every time. Finally I have found a simple coffee pot that simply does what it was designed for without over architecting needless technology or any gimmicks. Some other tips:Never put tap water into these machines. Use distilled water and you will rarely if ever have to descale the unit.If you grind your own beans you can simply set the grinder to a set time for the measure. No need to use the spoon or anything.Everybody has a favorite coffee roaster. I stumbled upon Two Brothers out of Chicago and they have a consist process that gives me exactly what I am looking for in coffee. I use other brands for espresso.Enjoy your coffee!!!

Simple, Fast, Elegant
I have been looking at this coffee maker for some time and pulled the trigger once the price hit my target range. It is very simple, brews very fast, and produces great coffee. No clock or timer so I plugged it into a smart outlet and have it on a schedule through an app, works like a charm. Only watchout for this is if the coffee maker reaches auto shutoff time before the outlet is turned off, the next day will not brew right, have to cycle the power button. I have since programmed an off time for the outlet or turn it off manually when I fill my last cup of coffee.

Nice, but not worth the price!
This coffee maker has been #1 on America's Test Kitchen reviews for years, at least the one with the thermal carafe has been. They say it lasts and lasts and makes superior coffee.I think it looks nice, makes coffee quickly, and is easy to clean. I did not want the thermal carafe version because it doesn't pour well and I would not make good use of that big carafe. What I am not that impressed with is the coffee, the quality, the amount that is actually brewed:1. The coffee is good, but not superior.2. As many have pointed out, the cheap, flimsy plastic parts gor a $350+ device is ridiculous.3. It says it makes 10 cups, but even when filling to the 10 cup line, you do not get 10 cups of coffee. This was a gift so I am keeping it. If I had purchased it myself, I would have returned it and bought something cheaper.
