Thalo blue makes a good 'blue' but scarlet is not a primary. The two mixed together make a yucky grayish purple. On the other hand, I got this cheap set for a school project that I was pretty sure I would throw away as soon as the class ended. (I was right.)BTW, the tubes are nearly impossible to open without getting a big blop of paint on your hands.In the end, I really wasn't expecting much, hence 4 stars rather than 3.

My father started painting again, in retirement, after giving it up for many years. I bought him this paint set and he stated that it is, “Just what he needed after being absent, from the world of art, for so long.” He said it is a great paint set for basic or intermediate painting. He says it is smooth, but that adding a little bit of water to it helps it to spread better. These are the primary colors and can be mixed to make more colors easily. The colors are vibrant and pleasing to the eye. My father states that they will dry in about 30 minutes. He liked the large flip top base, that allowed the paints to stand upright, and thus the paint comes to the bottom of the tube, so that the artist is always ready to dispense paint. It is a great value for the money.

I love this paint. When using on wood projects, it takes just one coat. It dries quickly and does not bleed through. Top quality product.

I actually bought this paint to cover up the numbers on paint by numbers so they don't show through the translucent paint. This paint is not opaque. It is very translucent which is the way it is clearly advertised and it's my fault for not reading the details. So, it doesn't really work for what I needed it for but I do now have a huge tube of white paint that I didn't pay very much for. I can't really think of anything negative or positive to say about it besides you get a lot for your money. Just make sure you are needing a translucent white before you purchase!

This is a unique color. It shimmers in the right light.

Bright white

Just got me another brand of Titanium White, fixing up some spots on my painting, noticing, that this new one leaves a shiny glossy look. All other spots painted with this stuff are dull and dry looking, non glossy, and of course the colors I mixed with this Titanium White as well

These colors are premium. It stuck to wall so easily and tubes are very easy to manage and clean, this was my first painting project. I loved the outcome, go for it!!!
