I have been using mine for the last week and they seem to be working very well. I had a steel one for years that was very nice and it got caught in my car door as i got out..so my boss gave me one in plastic chrome with a metal hook and company logo....it lasted a couple days before I found it exploded apart as it quietly slid out my car door while getting the mail. I purchased these and they have a sturdy belt clip along with a strong clip on the top in case you want to use it for mountain climbing ha ha. The outer chrome is metal with a nice smooth black plastic inner section that can take a shock, it extends about 2ft with a nice tight well made feel to the reel section, the snap works well and the clear plastic is pliable and thin but rugged..if I needed more I would buy more but these seem like they will last years..might give a few out as presents to our couriers.

They feel solidly built and the clip hangs on to whatever my co-workers put them on. I haven't had a single complaint and have even had people ask me where I buy them so they can get some for their spouses. They are a little lighter than I expected which was a good thing as they don't feel bulky in my pants and when I clip it to my coat, it does not fold or droop the pocket it clips onto. The metal was surprisingly well finished which makes my co-workers feel as if the company paid a ton of money for them before they handed them out... little do they know they are extremely cheap on amazon. For the price, the build quality is really well done and appreciated. I would recommend for anyone or any company that uses ID cards or HID cards.

It LOOKS like a solid, mostly metal clip.It's not.It's actually mostly plastic, with a metal ring that wraps around the outside. Recently the main part separated from the metal ring, but I was able to snap it back in place. The pocket clip broke the first week I had it. It snapped off completely, so I resorted to using the big clip for belt loops. That part works great, but that would also be hard to mess up. Lastly, the snap that goes through a slip on an ID card isn't quite as secure as I'd like it. It doesn't snap in place with a nice audible "click". You just sort of feel it. I'm not worried about it falling off on it's own, but I could see it coming off with light force. Not great for an ID that gives you building access.

These are better than cheap badge holders except the fact that the silver metal clip comes loose and falls out just as easy as the cheap ones. Once that clip falls out it can not permanently be reattached, it continues to fall out and despite best efforts eventually gets lost. For me the carabiner clip extends use but makes it less functional than using belt clip. I wish a company would make a belt clip that is removable for those that prefer carabiner but able to reattach for those who only use belt clip after it inevitably falls off.

Needed one of these for our new office space so I bought a 10-pack to share with coworkers. I've been using mine every day for about a month now and it's held up. But, another coworker had hers break on the first use (the carabiner clip opened once and wouldn't re-clasp shut). The clip part is a little bit stiff/awkward to open, but once it's clipped it seems to stay on with no issues so far. Good value for how cheap they are, but if you want a really good quality one I'd probably look elsewhere.

These are good quality and so far no issues with light daily use (twice per day use). Extraction / retraction is a smooth, a few bumps and smacks have not caused any degradation in performance and both badge snap and retractor clip still hold securely. I will update if things change, but for now I rate it 5 stars after about a month of ownership. I use it to hold a gym membership badge to my contigo water bottle. It does feel somewhat light (maybe it has plastic internals) and so I wonder how durable it will be over the long term or how durable it would be if used heavily for daily repeated office building door accesses.

This a beautiful versatile key lanyard. The string is a little thin. The worse part about it is that if you try to use the carabiner on the silver part, it will separate the black part from the silver part. I use the silver clip on the back of the black part instead. I have taken them apart and applied Super Glue and that seemed to last a long time. It is a good product for what you pay for.

The belt clip is strong, the retraction and cord are fine; one broke after a very long time using it. However, taking the next one out of the bag of 5, the plastic tab with the snaps/ well one of them was missing a snap altogether, another one had the snap that for some reason just wouldn't snap closed. One other, very weak snap, badge weight made it unsnap so it was useless. 2 of the 5 were good. I wouldn't recommend these. If I had one bad apple out of the bag, I would be okay with that...but I had 3 bad out of 5!!

They do what they are supposed to do well and after a few weeks haven't broken

I wasn’t expecting it to be sturdy enough but to my surprise I think I’ll get about few months out of it.

The black detaches easily from the silver ring - many have lost their key fobs after only a month and a half of carrying this around

Bought a dozen of these for our team and clips come out after a little usage. The rest works fine
