SingStar 80's (Stand Alone) - PlayStation 2

This game is so much fun. I am not really a video game person, but I have all of the singstar games & they are great party games.There are three different levels (Easy, Medium, Hard). You can sing alone and try to beat high scores.You can also sing with another person & choose from different game modes:Duet (you sing different parts & together to get a combined score)Battle (both sing the whole song & battle for high score)Pass-the-mic (pretty self-explanatory)I also like that you can do Freestyle if you just want to do plain karaoke & sing however you want. There is no scoring, but it's good for people who want to go crazy. :DI love singstar & have all of the ps2 discs. The 80's one probably gets the most play by my family & friends.The only real drawback with singstar is that their microphones are proprietary. That means you can't use them with other games and you can't use other microphones with singstar.I hope they keep coming out with more!

Soooooo much fun!!!! Okay, yes, I am a child of the 80's, but I think anyone would enjoy these songs! I especially love how you get to watch the original music videos while you sing along, which in this case really is hysterical, I mean c'mon.... Duran Duran, Twisted Sister, Madonna, Cyndi Lauper... these videos alone are GOLD! My girls, who are 9 and 11, find them absolutely hilarious! We have American Idol too, which is also a lot of fun, but different.... no videos, lots more judging. However, karaoke lovers be warned, the microphones on these two games are NOT compatible. SingStar requires it's own microphone, and so does American Idol. That is my only complaint because you end up with all sorts of microphones cluttering up space. Playstation should streamline all karaoke games to use the same microphone. Other than that we LOVE this game!!!

now i many have only been born in 1986 but i sure do remember growning up listening to these songs! i knew i was familiar with a few of them when i purchased it but just now recieveing it and then popping it in my ps2 to see how the songs were, i realized i know about 98% of the songs and thats REALLY good because not only are they extremely fun 80's songs but that means i dont have to learn the lyrics to a bunch since i already know them! i purchased 4 new singstar games to have for a get together with friends later this months and so far i think this one will be the most fun to play. this is definitely a game worth purchasing!

While the game may be fun and the song selection can be debated until the end of time, the one thing that I want to emphasize is that you need to buy the Singstar microphones or you won't be able to use this game.I have had several versions of Karaoke Revolution for years and we love them. We use two standard USB mics and they're great. When I bought a Singstar game, I was excited to try it out as soon as I opened the package, but then I read the cover and realized I might be in trouble. NOWHERE in the game description does it say you need special microphones! Regular USB mics will not work with Singstar and the special Singstar microphones will not work with Karaoke Revolution. Keep this in mind when ordering.

I bought this for my wife and teenage daughter for the playstation 3. Yes the old singstar PS2 games with PS3. You put in the PS3 singstar and go to song selection and then press the "Select" a screen comes up and prompts you to put in the another disc of songs. Works like a champ. The songs were great and the girls played all night. We are going to get more songs and they will be playing it at sleep overs etc. Happy with purchase.

I wish Playstation still made Singstar. My heart breaks a little when I whip this out and have to sing Total Eclipse of the Heart over and over again because I have no new songs. Best game ever! My neighbors probably want to strangle me. But so what? I'm having fun. Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!

Great collection of hits from the eighties from all genres. I have a PS3 and the PS2 disc works just fine on it, just needed a quick software download and presto. And if you put in a PS3 Singstar game first and then swap to a PS2 one the PS2 one will have the same graphics and interface as the PS3 one....so a good way to add to your PS3 Singstar library is to buy all the old PS2 titles, they can be had for a great price here on Amazon.
