I was very upset to be told by my 7 year old that when her school teacher was reading the book in class that the word bastardisedI was really upset when reading with my 7 year old grand daughter and some of her friends that the word bastard appeared in the story it caused upset and I felt it was quite unsuitable for use in a book for young children

I'm glad I read it to myself before reading it out ...
I took a chance on this because there were no reviews but something told me that this was the book I needed for my family to use to honor Purim with this year. This is the first year we will be celebrating and as a Christian family, we have felt led to honor the Jewish feasts and festivals. So here we are, coming up on Purim and I needed something that the kids would sit still for but something that would also be accurate enough to stand in as the Megillah for the children.First of all, I'm glad I read it to myself before reading it out loud to my kids. The author has called Haman a bastard a couple times which stopped me in my tracks! I understand what a bastard is but I'd rather not use the word loosely around my children! So I penciled in an alternative word that I can use while reading it aloud to my family. (I wonder what the Hebrew Megillah refers to Haman as?) And there are quite a few typos that caught me off guard and I had to stop to reread it trying to figure out what was missing. As far as accuracy according to the Megillah, I don't have much experience with translating from Hebrew but this story book seems to paraphrase the book of Esther fairly well for children. I think I would recommend it along with the cautions that I have listed above =)

Inappropriate for children and for $14.00, it has quite a few mistakes.
There are several missing words and misspelled words. Also the word Bastard is used in the book two times. This doesn't seem appropriate for young children. Definitely not worth the money.

I don't remember reading this aloud to my students. That means it wasn't a good resource and I had found something better.
