Mark Tremonti: The Sound & The Story

he goes in depth I an excellent guide for not the beginner, but the guitarist who had adapted to his guitars and plays well. THIS is his advice to going all the way, so a player can be regarded as a pro. THE MUST FOR Any young player, giving guidelines to many facets, like using different tunings, as well as the scales - all what any good teacher would heartily recommend - though this is the cheaper way to go than lessons, which can cost huge amounts - not needed nowadays with so much on the internet. Though personal lessons with a master can bring one to that level - but start earnings first. what he doesn't say is the most important advice - it costs a lot of money to buy pro gear - not needed to spend thousands on a guitar, finding great ones at 300 or less is my hobby - but with strings, straps, amps, cases, etc, YOU NEED A GOOD Paying job to get anywhere first. MOST players give up, give in, the amount of used guitars offered prove this, although some keep upgrading. The REAL TRUTH is you only do this if you have to - if the urge to play is that strong that you must do it daily, then do it daily. PLAY ALONG EACH TIME TO ALL MUSIC YOU LISTEN TO - IT WILL BUILD YOUR ABILITY.

Mark and Miles are ingenious. Great structure for the DVD. You can learn some really cool stuff from them. I kinda wish they hadn't brought iin the other musicians at the end. I guess Mark is comfortable with his musicianship. Those guests were awesome. I think Mark genuinely aspires to be the best. By that, he is still willing to flirt with new styles.

Great for any guitar playing fan of Mark Tremonti, he is such a humble, down to earth person. I really like the fact that he really wants to take the time for his fans to show them capabilities of what any guitar player can learn.

When Tremonti left Creed to start Alterbridge, he became unbridled and it shows. When in the atmosphere of Creed, he was doing rhythm, he emerged as a soloist in this album. Well worth the buy, don't hesitate on this DVD or the album!!! I'm a big fan and have all the books and the (2) Tremonti Instructional DVDs, Each one is excellent! Tremonti also opened his own band, aptly named Tremonti and it is a bit more raw and heavier. You'll love it! It was only in the DVD, that he mentions the fact that in his relation with PRS, he was actually the SECOND artist to ever get a Signature PRS Guitar, only following Santana, himself as being PRS's first Artist to have their own Signature Axe!!!This is one of the best DVD's you can pick up, I highly recommend it! Keep in mind, you have to get the new alter bridge Fortress DVD/Tab Combo set, it's just as good, if not better. Hope the review helps:)
