Charming
Although this slim volume summarises the main periods in Churchill's remarkable life, it is hardly intended to be an exhaustive biography. Its purpose is to define those aspects of Winston's tastes that made up the unique Churchill style and the author does it very well in discussing his personal preferences in wine, food, clothing, automobiles and, of course, cigars. Although I have read several fine biographies of the great man, I still came away with a few new anecdotes to share. The book contains a number of rewarding photographs of Winston and his family and concludes with a list of his favourite purveyors of those things that make life worth living. This book will delight all those who admire Winston Churchill, which should include everyone.

A Must for any Churchill Buff
I have read nearly all of the biographies of Churchill (and numerous other books about him) and this is the most downright fun to read. The author is a truly fine writer as well as an expert on Churchill. What makes this book so much fun to read either in snippets "draughts" is the structure: short "chapters" covering everything from his political fortunes to the apartments and homes he lived in at various times in his life to the cars he drove to the cigars, food and drink he preferred (the reports of his drinking, other than champagne, have been greatly exaggerated) to the clothing he wore to his daily habits. If you're a Churchill fan, you'll see photographs you've never seen before and learn a few things about the man that you likely didn't know. If you know someone who doesn't know very much about Churchill, this is the book to get them to read. A must.

Lots of Churchill trivia
I have read every book about or by Churchill I can get my hands on. I have a ceiling to floor bookcase full of books by or about Churchill. I started this collection in my early teens. Now I am gathering a collection of e-books. Needless to say I know most of the information in this book, “Churchill Style: The Art of Being Winston Churchill” by Barry Singer. Barry Singer is the owner of Chartwell Books in New York City, a bookstore famous for its focus on the works of Winston Churchill. Singer writes about Churchill’s sense of style. For those looking for a book that provides a large amount of trivia information about WSC this is a great book for that. The book has information from, who made his hats to wear, where he bought his bowties, the brand of whiskey he prefer to the brand of pens he preferred to write with. I enjoyed the parts where the author talks about the various houses that the Churchill family lived in. He’s most famous for living in Chartwell, but he lived in many other interesting places. There are lots of pictures in the book. The author also writes about WSC passion of horses, from his childhood horse, his polo ponies to his race horses. Churchill’s favorite pastime was horseback riding. I did learn a few items from the book I was unaware of. For example, I did not know Churchill was friends with Alexander Korba (one of my favorite movie directors). Apparently during the depression when WSC was struggling financially Korba hired him to write or edit some movie scripts. One was on Lawrence of Arabia which Korba chose not to make but sold it off to Hollywood. I just love picking up these little pearls of information. If you are looking for a book that is more about Churchill’s lifestyle or want some trivia information, this is the book for you. It is well-written in an easy going style that drips of information with lots of photographs. I read this as an e-book on my Kindle app for my Ipad.

Walking In Winston's Shoes!!!
I have read Gilbert and Manchester on the life and times of Winston S. Churchill and can honestly say that Singer brought up points never mentioned by these Churchillian authors. For instance I never knew Winston was hooked on cigarettes as a teen who was admonished by his parents to immediately quite this bad habit. I found out about his cigar and alcoholic habits Barry Singer has put together a delightful review of what it was to be Winston Churchill. Having been a student of Churchill I did not expect to learn much more about him. As usual I was wrong, Singer brought up more nuggets on this most prominent man. In the realm of historical analysis I can think of no other person who has been in recorded history including Jesus Christ himself who has been so analyzed and written about and studied as Winston Churchill. From his birth in Blenheim Palace to his death in January of 1965 in London, Winston Spencer Churchill is the ultimate humanitarian, politician, and warrior who personifies all that is good in the human race. We all know the privileged circumstances of birth and social standing afforded Winston. We know of his education and struggles with both his father who died at a young age and his social butterfly mother Jenny Jerome Churchill. What Singer does in his very graphic and honest portrayal of Churchill is to put you the reader in the shoes of what it was to live the life of Winston Churchill throughout his life. Was he an alcoholic? Really he was not!!! His cigar habit was addictive but he smoked much less than perceived. Singer's writing is easy and very provocative. The stories told within are entertaining and revealing! Singer adds depth to the historical oevre of Winston Churchill. The pictures shown within this work are priceless and add texture and meaning to a man who lead a meaningful and full life. This book is a must for any Churchillian and any other person interested in contemporary World history!!

This is by no means a comprehensive and thorough book about Churchill and his history. This should be found elsewhere. But if one has already read other more comprehensive books about Winston Churchill and his history, I would nonetheless say that this small book is a good one, and it contained some new information for me. The paper pages and print are excellent. Recommended.

Interesting man
Great book, I am thoroughly enjoying reading it, it says a lot a about how Churchill evolved and his habits and likes. Sometimes I wish the writer had put more detail in but then I think no its about right. Great book to read in snippets, an easy rewarding read.

Excellent and Entertaining Read
Not only does the book deliver as promised a great description of the style of being Churchill, but it also gives a very good overview of his life, from his somewhat unhappy childhood to his 19th Century military and journalistic adventures to his extraordinary life as one of the towering figures of the 20th Century. Meanwhile one gets a very amusing look at his tastes, habits, meals, over-extended bills at London's finest stores, smokes, friends, champagne, children, pets, servants, autos and unbelievable energy. An aristocrat, but generally one with considerable sympathy to all the world's people. Born rich, but a man with such appetites and sense of adventure that he skirted bankruptcy several times - but never bankruptcy of spirit, words, ideas or life.
