Q: Confused as how to use this product. When do I use the interfacing and when to I use the film? I assume they have a different purpose (not both used)

What you call interface is for tracing the design you want to copy (using a washable ink) then putting the tracing on top of your chosen fabric and going over the design again with washable pen so that the design come through onto your chosen fabric. The film is easier in a way; you put it over the design you want to copy, trace the design then fix the film onto your chosen fabric ( straightforward if you are using an embroidery frame) and just sew through the film. Once you have finished the embroidery you just put it in warm water and the film dissolves.

It was confusing for me too when I received the package. One of them is non-water soluble, this is the cloth like sheet. You can trace the pattern on it, put it on the cloth and then trace the pattern again with a water erasable pen. Then embroider on the patterned cloth. The other one in the package is water soluble film, you can trace the pattern on it, then put it flat on the embroidery cloth and embroider water soluble film and cloth together. When finished, just wash the film off. I hope it helps :)
