This is a great knife for the up and coming chef in the family or a well seasoned chef!
I received my knife just in time for hubby's birthday. He loved it....the knife is a nice heavy weight with a firm handle which fits comfortably in both my little hand and his big hand. It is very very sharp! We buy our meat in bulk and this knife gets used a lot.....not only for preparing meals but cutting down the meats for smaller packaging. This is a great knife for the up and coming chef in the family or a well seasoned chef!

As a former meat cutter, I knew that you're not going to get a true chef knife for twenty bucks. We needed a blade for everyday kitchen prep needs at home though so I was hoping that this one would be good enough. The good news is that it is- the blade is sharp and it makes light work of fruits, meats and vegetables. However, it struggles with cheeses and it won't cut through fat on meats at all....and I'm talking about slicing down a full strip loin or something like that. We usually buy in bulk from Costco and that's the primary reason I needed a better knife...it just doesn't do it. To be fair though, once I'm through the fat on the outside, this knife blazes through the red meat like a true chef knife.Honestly, this is a five star kitchen knife for the price. But the butcher in me is angry about the advertising that says "chef knife" and "professional quality"...it's just not. This is a great home knife for amateur cooks, but nothing more than that.

Rusted after first use! UPDATED
Needed a half way decent knife for our camper. Looked at the other reviews and figured it would be good. Used it once. Left it in the sink for a few hours before I had a chance to wash it and it now has rust spots on it. So much for it being stainless steel! I have a 20 year old set of Wusthof knives in my house that I leave in the sink overnight and not one of those has ever rusted!Update to review: contacted the company and they said, "When a knife is manufactured it can be made of Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel or a combination of both. If a knife is made solely of Stainless steel it will be highly stain and rust resistant but will not hold a really sharp edge for very long...such are the properties of stainless steel. If the knife is made of carbon steel it will hold a really great edge but is far more susceptible to rust or stain spots. Our knife is a mixture of both designed to have a good balance between the length of time it will hold its edge and the still remain rust and stain resistant. However this does mean that the knife should be hand washed and dried after use and we do recommend stored in the presentation box."They suggested using a scouring pad to remove the rust so I'm going to try that. If not, they'll replace it or refund my money. Either way it was great customer service from the company! They responded to my email right away.
