A post-shave balm that really does look after your skin and smells great too...
The “Post Shave Balm” from “Seven Potions” is a tube of good quality, hydrating balm that’s specifically designed for men to use post shaving. The Amazon listing tells you all the vegan-friendly and natural ingredient credentials this stuff has to its name, so I won’t duplicate this unnecessarily. To cut to the chase, I’m just gonna focus on the two main qualities you probably want to know about this post-shave balm. Namely…(i) How well does this perform at moisturising your skin post shave? Well, I can report that for me at least this stuff is excellent. As I have a trim beard, I just need to shave my neck and upper cheeks. I’m so often in a rush in the morning, so if I’m honest, I so often don’t bother with shaving foam, and just go for a quick dry shave with water post a quick wash. So, a good post-shave balm is essential otherwise I would no doubt have red patches of rawness on areas of my neck. This stuff ensures that isn’t the case every singe time. It’s excellent!(ii) How good is the scent? This is usually down to personal taste. Personally, I think this stuff smells damn good. It smells clean and fresh and a sort of vanilla with cream. A sort of lush soap smell you enjoy smelling on you as it smells so fresh and clean. After use my skin did feel soft, supple and free of any post-shave agitation. I’ve been using this stuff everyday for a good couple of weeks now and have absolutely nothing negative to say about it. My partner loves how my neck smells after I use this too. Which is great!

Arguably the perfect after-shave balm
What a pleasure to review a product made in the UK instead of China. It’s a good one too. No parabens or sulphates, no PEGs or silicones. Not even any colours or synthetic fragrances. I’m no vegan, but the cruelty-free aspect appeals. And the tube is recyclable, made of sugar cane. Perfect. The balm is pleasant to use and does soothe the skin, leaving it soft and smooth. It’s readily absorbed and has just a very light fragrance. Just don’t ask me what the fragrance might be – nothing in particular, but it’s pleasant enough and masculine. That’s fine by me, since I don’t go in for scented after-shaves.This genuinely is my favourite after-shave balm. It isn’t cheap, at £8.97 for 100 ml, but is thick and goes a long way. I’ll buy more in due course.

Good smelling aftershave balm that does a great job of moisturising and reducing razor burn
I was pleased to see that this came encased in a sealed plastic sheath, even though the more environmentally aware among us would be horrified by it! The fact is, though, that the last two things I bought that came in tubes had both leaked inside the packaging by the time they reached me. My attitude is that the environmental impact of having to throw away two leaky products is a lot worse than the small piece of plastic wrapped around the aftershave balm. The balm itself is pleasantly scented, absorbs quickly into the skin, and left my face feeling well moisturised. Eat your heart out, Raheem Sterling! The price is very reasonable at its current value of just under £9 for 100ml, given that competing sandalwood based balms come in at just £8 for 50ml, so overall this is a good product at a good price

Decent product.
This after shave balm seems premium quality, and has a very rich, creamy consistency. I shave every other day, and on ‘shave days’, do like to use a moisturising balm. This is easy to apply, and works in nicely, without greasiness or shininess. As noted, it’s very rich, so comes out very thick, meaning only a little is neededThe balm is free from parabens, PEGs, silicones, colourants, and synthetic fragrance, which is good to know. However, whilst it being fragrance free will appeal to many, it doesn’t me. I do like to actually smell nice after showering and shaving! What this means is that I’m then tempted to use additionally some normal after-shave, which kind of defeats the object. I will therefore use as just as a moisturising cream. It’s ‘Vegan-friendly’ which seems to be all the rage these days – frankly that just irritates me, having no interest either way. After use, the skin feels fresh and hydrated , as you’d expect, and nice and soft. All in all, this is a decent product, good quality and rich consistency. Fragrance free will, I know, appeal to some, but it doesn’t really me. For a straightforward moisturiser, yes, but not for after-shave. I can’t comment on price, since unavailable at the moment.I hope you have found this helpful.

Soothes irritation, no complaints
I got this for my younger brother who’s just started shaving. Although there isn’t much to shave he’s been paranoid about getting things like discolouration, ingrowns and folliculitis. He’s been using this in conjunction with an oat milk cleanser and a oat milk ceramide moisturiser. Although his T zones oily he’s been experiencing dryness where he grows hair, and doesn’t want to get that skin texture change older men can get after years of shaving. So far his comments are ‘it’s good’ ‘it works’ his skins still flawless and baby faced. The dryness and redness he had is no longer visible. Preventions better than the cure.
