An amazing grinder for the price!
This machine was recommended by Seattle Coffee Gear for producing the finest grounds in its price range. It also has a feature which eliminates the static created by the grinding action. The machine is quite remarkable for the price, producing grinds fine enough for both pump expresso and stove top units. The unit is also simple to use with minimal mess due to the lack of static cling. I have owned or tried several other grinders, including the Capresso, but nothing comes close to the fine grinds produced by this little unit.

Consistent and fast grinder with little static
This grinder is an incredible value in my opinion. While I haven't had it for long enough to know how durable it is, it produces incredibly consistent grounds for french press and pour over, while also grinding through large amounts of coffee quickly, relatively quietly, and with little static/mess. The only downside is that it doesn't grind too coarse, so the coarsest setting might be a bit too fine for what some people are used to for french press or cold brew. It would be nice if they offered a way to re-calibrate the grinds to make the coarse settings produce more coarse settings, since it makes the finer settings unusable for filter coffee.

Decent, affordable grinder for non espresso coffee brews.
I think this is a great little grinder. It’s not too loud and does a fine job with coarser grinds. I have found anything finer than a 13-15 on its coarseness setting means you’ll have to do a deeper clean after every 2-3rd uses. I’m set at 15 for drip as the finest grind I use and clean now every 5-6th use. One thing that is annoying is that the box for the grinds has a lid with a hole. I find that the hole prevents the grounds from distributing into the container effectively and the last bit get stuck in the shoot and when you remove the container from the grinder it goes everywhere. The grounds container needs the lid to fit snugly into the grinder. Despite this, I find it less haste to simply place the container in w/out the lid and just hold it in for the 30-40 seconds it takes to grind. Small inconvenience for less mess imo. I have not had much static issues if any. Good buy, but there’s probably better for similar or slightly higher cost. We’ll see how it performs long term.

excellent grinder at a good price
Grinder produces very even grounds of very controllable size. It is less noisy than our previous blade grinder and the ground coffee easily pours completely out of the bin without the finger-sweeping our old blade grinder required. We keep the beans in a separate air-tight container and just grind the amount we need each time, so it is nice that the Solis does a great job of emptying the hopper completely. It seems to be a much more substantial machine than our previous blade grinders. A very nice grinder at a reasonable price.

Do not buy this product!
This grinder stopped working within three months of purchase. Despite an hour spent cleaning it, removing all the parts and dedicated effort to reassemble it still will not grind. Several other reviewers state same. For close to a hundred dollars, I regret my purchase. And it stopped working on a morning I really needed that first cup of coffee. No refund or return available. Do not buy this product.

Long term review - 16 months
This grinder generally does a nice job, at least it did for the first 6-12 months. I've used it for espresso, and on the finest settings it can actually grind the coffee too fine to draw a shot. Lately though, I've been getting inconsistent grinds that have affected the strength of the coffee. Also, after the first year, the anti-static doesn't seem to work anymore. I've deep cleaned the machine and I'm still getting really terrible static. I'm having to dampen the chute and the basket before grinding. I live in a very humid area where static was never a problem with my previous grinder, and I'm very disappointed by this.As the time has passed, I have become more unhappy with this purchase. If I could do it all over again, I would apply my $100 towards a better grinder.

Makes fresh delicious coffee so easy.
With the touch of a button, grinds whole coffee beans perfectly! It takes a bit of calibrating your desired grind with the amount of ground coffee you want, but once you got it, it performs beautifully! I love this so much more than what I had before, and I've been grinding beans on demand for 20+ years!

Yes, it does work for espresso
This newer version, the Scala Zero, is more calibrated toward the fine end of the grind continuum, and on its fine settings, in my experience, does grind fine enough for espresso machines, even with a single wall portafilter basket. I haven’t found any other powered grinder at this price point that actually does this.
