UNIONBAYMen's Survivor Belted Cargo Short-Reg and Big & Tall Sizes

Holes has already appeared near the pocket corners after a month
While the cargo shorts are cheap, it appears to be a bit TOO cheap, as the materials used appears to be thin and unsuitable for even normal wear. I own several pairs of cargo and regular shorts, and this one was the only one that already developed one hole around each cargo pocket area. And I don't even load the cargo pockets that much! The design of pockets is also rather weird. The big pocket is big enough, and I rather like velcro enclosures... Until they snag in the dryer. The outside small pocket... What is that for? They interfere with the big pocket flaps. They don't fit anything useful for me. It's almost as if they added it just for kicks.I will need a different pair soon.

Caution! Read before buying.
These shorts have a flaw in the design. I really liked them online and when they showed up they fit great. I bought (2) khaki colored, (1) gray, and (1) black all at the same time. After 3-4 wears the front cargo pockets separate from the short and tear holes in the front of every pair. Must be a design flaw because I've had it happen with all of them pair with less than 6 wears of normal walking and driving...I wasn't hiking or working or anything active at all, very diss appointed.

Too large; feels cheap
These shorts are fine, but not great. The included belt is of poor quality. It has thick bands at the top, bottom, and middle, with flimsy material between.Speaking of the belt, they include the belt to discourage returns. These shorts are two sizes too large, at least around the waist. If you ever want to wear them without a belt, be sure to order at least one size smaller.Being cargo shorts, the pockets are important. The lower and rear pockets both use velcro fasteners, which works fine, is easy for use, and avoids any buttons that might catch if you brush against things. The lower pockets have tiny secondary outside pockets that are quite small; too small to be useful for anything I would need them for.Overall, I would recommend the Lee shorts instead. Not good material
Although the shorts are really nice, the material used is very cheap. Holes are forming on my shorts next to the side pockets. I don't have much time with them yet this is already happening.

Material around the pocket corners is early torn
I really like shorts. They look and fit great. I bought 4 pairs and two of them have tears along the left side pocket after wearing only a couple of times.. a third pair has a small hole starting and im sure will get larger soon enough. I figured out it’s probably caused getting in and out of the car rubbing on the door jam as I sit down .. I don’t have this problem with other shorts so ?!?!

These are long enough for my 6'4" tall husband. Knee length.
Bought these for my husband and he likes them really well. They seem to be well made and fit true to size . The material is not too heavyweight, however if you live in an extremely hot part of the country you may want to choose a lighter fabric. My husband is 6'4" with a 34" waist so I have a lot of difficulty finding shorts that are long enough. When I try shopping in the Big & Tall categories the inseam are longer however the waist sizes typically start at 40".These particular shorts hit him right at the kneecap, so if we decide to keep them we'll have to wash cold and line dry to avoid shrinking the inseam. He likes them so well that I think we'll probably keep them.

comfortable and functional shorts
Excellent, I bought these because a similar pair that had lasted me about 10 years was finally giving up the ghost. I was disappointed to learn that the new short, though outwardly very similar, was made of much less substantial fabric and is unlikely to last anywhere near that long, but the price (half off normal retail) was excellent, so I bought two. I enjoy wearing these comfortable and functional shorts in combination with sandals+socks just to make the fashionistas heads explode ;-)

Seamstress had a bad day? Let's find out...
Goose-Grey, 42":Someone missed? The ends of all belt-loops are normally folded over and sewn down against the waist of the shorts, on both ends... I would think in most cases of pants/shorts belt-loops. On the pair I received, the fold-over was not sewn down, and there was one line of thread holding the bottom of the belt-hoop to the shorts. On not one, but all the hoops. When you wear 42's, you want the belt loops to stand up to their task, and the test of time. 2 more couldn't hurt, either.I am accepting a replacement attempt, to see if the first pair was a fluke. There may be an update to this in my future...The design itself seems OK. I also bought the Cordova Messenger at the same time, which looks to be the same design, except for 2 more inches of length and tying below the knee, plus the material itself. (Messenger is a lighter material. These Survivors are more jean-like.) The outer leg-pocket fits my fat wallet. Closes with hook-and-loop. (Commonly called Velcro.) I hope it lasts... Inner cargo pocket has good space, also hook-and-loop closures. Waist pocket is deep enough to not push my S9+ out of the pocket, with enough room for the wallet as well. The Messengers are being tested today. The Survivor replacement comes on Monday.Update:The replacement they sent me was another pair of Messenger shorts, not the Survivor shorts... Decided I'd just keep them...

Great Shorts
I purchased a pair some years ago when overseas and they have been my favourite and most comfortable shorts , finally found them here on Amazon and bought 2 pairs, with the postage costs from the USA it's best to buy 2 pairs as the postage is the same for 1 or 2.

Product great, delivery terrible.
Product great, quality seems as good as other Union Bay shorts I have and fitted as expected. Sadly the delivery was terrible. Driver rang my video doorbell and left without waiting to see if anyone was in leaving the package in full view on my doorstep. Luckily it was still there when I arrived home several hours later.

These are great shorts, highly recommended
I have a number of these shorts and they are great, robust not to heavy on and they are my go anywhere shorts. Love the pockets, so you don't have to carry a bag.

Disappointing STATE of delivery from USA
Actually like the style of the pants but very disappointed as there was no belt and 4 red threads showing at back where presumably a label had been ripped off.... which suggests they had been worn previously and returned minus belt and label then repackaged. All this after I had paid top import duty to get the pants sooner (in time for holiday)... the irony being I’m going to the States. Thanks but No thanks Amazon USA - won’t be using you again !
