An Introduction to Persian: Key to Exercises

Masterful
Nothing compares to Thackston’s grammar. Precise and comprehensive. Ruthlessly paced. As Wheeler himself would say, “This is the alphabet. Know it for next time.” But there’s no substitute.

No complaints
No complaints, good content, it covers the Nastaliq script in depth without taking away from the actual grammar lessons. My only complaint is there is no lesson key. If you want a lesson key you have to order it separately.

No CDs available for this edition; makes it virtually useless for self-study.

Exercise book for Persian by Thackston
THis is a great review and improvement for people already with a basis in Farsi. It has been great for improving my lost vocabulary and actually learning to read Farsi even better. Highly recommend this and the companion Farsi learning book by the same author.

You have to buy the other book to make this one useful.
At $25.97 including shipping this is a 43 page book that does not stand on its own. it is clearly associated with some other book youhave to buy first. I did some research and it turns out that it is the "answer book" for exercises in the book called " An Introduction to Persian, Fourth Edition", which is what I thought I was buying.BUYER BEWARE---its not clear t in the way this book is profiled on Amazon. You have to buy the other book to make this one useful.

Very basic, with typos
I have worked trough all exercises of An Introduction to Persian , which was a very nice experience. I also bought this key, but found that it had quite a lot of misprints and omissions. Also there are no explanations at all. It is of some value, of course, but does not live up to the high standards of the textbook. I'm going to publish an errata on the net to make this purchase worthwhile.
