Q: I read the rack is 26 pounds alone... I need to carry the rack (without boards) on and off my boat dock each weekend... does this sound doable?

Very light in my opinion. One person can carry it with ease. And the shelf poles are quick to remove reducing even more weight if needed.

Q: Is there a cover I can buy with the rack?

I did not see a cover. Our rack came with a broken bolt. We thought we fixed it and set it up only to have the boards fall. We returned it. Good luck.
