Beyond Bilal: Black History In Islam Paperback – February 6, 2022

If you don't have this book in your collection, your Islamic and/or Black History collection is not complete! Mustafa Briggs does an excellent job of documenting the little-known history of various Black people who were Muslim, including some of the prophets and companions and some of the Movements amongst African-Americans in the past century. You will find the book fascinating and informative and be proud of the achievements that People of Color made for the cause of Islam. Please also read his third book "Islam and the Making of the Modern World" and check out his interviews on YouTube. You will not be disappointed!

Great Book a must read

This book is very enlightening. There’s a lot of racism towards Black people in the Muslim community. When people point out racism, Muslims deny it by saying Bilal was Black. This book teaches that Bilal wasn’t the only important Black Muslim in early Islam. Many of Prophet Muhammad’s companions were Black. Many of the first converts to Islam were also Black. Mustafa Briggs uses the Quran and Hadith to prove that Adam, Moses, Jesus, Hagar, Zayd and many others were Black Muslims. This book is a must read!

This is going to help me do much as a very new revert

This is an amazing hidden knowledge revealing book !!! Maa shaa Allah for this brother on my screen behind me in the photo. I'm buying all his books Everytime he publish one. Shame on other scholars and Muslims that withheld this knowledge and information. As black people. Islam is our birthright. All of them are black during the time of the prophet Muhammad pbuh. Including himself. Hashim Clan Which he is from was a black Arab tribe. Named after his second great grandfather paternal. It's so much info in here. Maa shaa Allah. Wallawhi may Allah bless you brother.

Mustafa Briggs has written a timeless addition of Black history, often forgotten or not discussed, in the greater Islamic discourse. Beyond Bilal, is not simply Black History: it is Islamic History! Beyond Bilal is well-written, thorough, and an easy read: a must read for all Muslims.
