I had another contour gauge in the past and it’s nothing like this. It was one of those light plastic things and the locks didn’t work anymore when I lost the little wrench. I chose this contour gauge because of the locks. The triple lock is great with screw locks on one side and a flip lock on the other side. Very secure feature. You also don’t have to worry about losing a gizmo that locks it. Definitely a well-made product and you feel it right out of the box. Used it for my flooring project. Very easy to use and accurate. Just purchase it, you won’t regret it.

I had cheaper contour gauges before without lock feature. It was royal pain to transfer contour without losing the acquired profile.This gauge makes profile copying a breeze. Having dual independent lock feature is the main winner: you pre-tighten the screws on one side, and after taking the profile you securely lock the lever on the other side. No fuss, accurate and reliable method.Two gauges come in nice cardboard box. Highly recommend.

It does what it needs to do. The plastic fingers don’t slide easily. I’m hoping that is because it was right out of the box. With more use it will probably get easier. For the money it definitely a time saver.

The media could not be loaded.  After ordering this product, I was very excited to get my hands on it. I have to tell you that it didn’t disappoint at all. It came in a professional looking packaging with a warranty card for 60 days. That’s really great customer service in my book.It comes with two gauges, 10 inch and 5 inch gauge and both are wide gauges. The other companies sell you a set but you don’t get two extra wide gauges. This is the main reason I chose this product. Plus, it’s such a good price with 3 locks. It also has really flexible pins made of ABS plastic that move without effort to copy the shape you want. The pins are thin but it won’t break easily unless you actually make an effort to break the pieces.I already tried it out when we re-tiled our kitchen floors and these gauge tools made my life easier. It made exact accurate copies and I didn’t have to do math on anything. Over-all, the product feels well-made. Locks work well. I also feel this product will last long. I’ll just keep it in the sturdy carton box it comes in. For me, it offers very good value. I would definitely buy this again. I already told my buddies about it.Just get it. You won’t regret. It’s a keeper.

While I don’t expect to use this tool very often, it’s wonderful to have it in my tool box. Whenever one has to cut aboard, piece of carpet, etc to fit around an irregular space, this tool makes the job super simple and accurate as it essentially allows you to exactly “copy” the space you need to fit into eliminating waste and saving time. Study and accurate at a reasonable price too.

Sturdy, like the locking feature, but the pins are tall. I bought this, but then couldn’t use it for my specific project because I could not slide it under the door frame to capture the shape of the wall (my fault for not thinking about this) This was important because the wall was not the same shape as the door frame, and I needed to slide my flooring under the actual frame so the board and blue underlayment didn’t show on the inside or outside of the door frame. I needed a thinner gauge but instead I opted to use another method for my project so I could keep working and get my floor done.Keeping it because for other projects this may not be a problem with using these tool, and they are well made. I’d advise others to consider how you plan to use it and do the math as to whether you’ll be able to get the tool into the space you intend to gauge.
