I have a cat that has some gum issues (2 yo) and my other cat just had some plaque (5 yo). We were using another tooth paste and it just didn’t seem to be helping. My vet recommended this tooth paste and wow! We brushed with gauze because his gums would bleed so bad and after a few months we were able to switch to a tooth brush with no bleeding gums. The plaque build up is completely gone on the 5 year old cat. We have since moved and switched vets and they are all impressed with their teeth. Both like it so much they will sit there and chew the brush after we are done

I use this on my cats every day. They love love love the taste, but I have not noticed a real improvement in their dental condition Feline ORIF. Still having teeth pulled and still have red gums, but a little better breath. Better than the other pastes available, just for the reason they don't mind me putting it on their teeth.

This toothpaste is good for my dog, she doesn’t give me problems using it on her teeth.What you see is what you get. I just ordered the chicken flavor toothpaste only.

My cat isn't interested in it enough to eat it like a treat, but he doesn't seem to hate it either.

The toothbrush is usable, but the toothpaste itself, chicken flavor, is wildly unpopular in our house of two cats.

Only used a few time my dog doesn’t care for it

I have had issues with my Yorkie letting me clean his teeth & tongue but with this tooth paste he loves the taste of this product & allows me access to do so. I use the chicken flavored paste. Thanks for a great product.

I've brushed my 5.5 year old border collie's teeth with a variety of toothpastes, and she really seems to enjoy this one. Brushing dog teeth isn't particularly glorious or comfortable for either of us, but she tolerates it and I try to keep it in short sessions. This, I have to ask her to let me actually brush it onto her teeth before she licks it all off the bristles. 😅I imagine it's primarily the flavor, but she loves her toothpaste. She gets to lick a little dollop off her brush as a reward between brushing each side and when we're finished, and she goes ham.Her vet said her teeth look great, and I'd definitely recommend adding brushing with Bluestem into your pet care routine!

My Dog needed his teeth cleaned professionally according to the vet 2 years ago, I kept putting it off because I could not find anyone that would do it for less than 1500... I live in ripoff edmonton.... I didn't think he needed them cleaned either until just 1 month ago he was scratching his face and not eating on one side..... so it's been about 4 weeks. Brushing every other day... using the water additive..... OMG his teeth are white, his gums are nice pale pink, he can eat on both sides and doesn't swallow his food as much. Loooks like he enjoys chewing again... I was waiting to see what the vet said before I made my review. Nothing negative from the vet about the product AND TO MY SURPRISE he no longer needs his teeth professionally cleaned as per my VET. !!! I don't give the dog any sweet treats or wet food... so maybe that is why his teeth have bounced back so quickly but I just wanted to leave a review and say that this stuff works wonders. My dog is even less itchy allover it seems... I had struggled to brush his teeth in the past, but going slow, and knowing that YOU do not have to push hard, just gently get the toothpaste on, and it will do the work. It's just getting it on, and the best part letting them lick off the leftover toothpaste so they get a treat... I used the stuff from the local petstore before and it did not work as fast or as well as this, which is why I originally gave up because the dog would also run away when he saw the toothbrush coming... he doesn't enjoy it now, but doesn't run away.. so maybe in time he will get better... more I do it the less pain full it seems as well for him.. So stick with it, just let them lick it off the toothpaste the first couple of times, then gently put it on real quick, and then let them lick it off the residual (that way they don't remember the brush part just the treat part).. and then after a while you can push a little bit but don't have to push hard at all. My vet said that for results and maintenance 1 per day is best, and every other day is Minimal BUT I think because of the water additive you can do it every other day with the same results (I only use half a dose of the water additive)..It does work, give it a try!! Paired with the water additive I have seen great results!!

Bristles are a bit long on the smaller side of wanting to use for a cat but otherwise good product. Dog loves the tooth paste

Surprisingly my cat actually likes the taste of the toothpaste. The small brush fits in her mouth nicely. I recommend 👍

Ease of use for small dogs

I ordered the chicken flavour. It lasts a long time. My dog used to ran away but now she just sits impatiently. It's progress but she will lick the tooth brush as I'm brushing her teeth. Helps make this routine a little more pleasant because she likes the flavor.
