Purina Bella Natural Small Breed Dry Dog Food, Natural Bites With Real Chicken & Beef - 12 lb. Bag

I have 2 small “fur babies” (dogs). One is a finicky female 16yrs “young” adorable angel Yorkie-mix & the other is my perfect lil gentleman (when he’s sleeping haha!) 6yr old purebred Maltese. Unfortunately my lil guy inherited/was bred too close/I just really don’t know but his teeth are very bad (been saving to have extractions on the teeth he has left!) My 16yr old gal has more teeth but at age 16 she now prefers food that has SOME soft but still flavorful pieces mixed in w/kibble of regular, harder consistency. They both LOVE Bella dry dog food! I love that I can buy it here on Amazon in LARGE size bags w/a VARIETY of flavor choices! (I’m NOT talkin’ the small 3lb bags that are the ONLY Bella dry food I can find in any of my local grocery, retail, or even pet supply/food stores) Maybe these stores haven’t considered (or cared?) that some small dog owners have more than 1 small dog…maybe they own several?? Why do the grocery/retail/pet supply stores appear to cater to medium & large size dogs as their shelves are more likely than not stocked w/super huge, very heavy bags of a multitude of flavors, brands, & price range choices? Yet small dog owners are hard pressed to find these same options?? THANK YOU AMAZON, THANK YOU BELLA & THANK YOU AMAZON SELLERS OFFERING ALL 3 FLAVORS (yes folks, thanks to sellers on Amazon I myself was surprised to learn there are more than 2 flavors of Bella Dry dog food!) YOU ALSO SAVE $$ by purchasing the larger 16lb bag size offerings here on Amazon! Thank you so much for making these available! This is NOT my 1st purchase - I’ve bought several times without any issues or problems & the food is FRESH (including the “Sell By Date” stamped on the packaging. Will definitely be buying again!

But, this brand seems to no more be on the market! I have wasted so much money trying other dry foods that my dog just turns his nose up at. He eats enuff but only because he has to eat!!!

I liked the ingredients. I liked that my dog liked it & I liked the price. The thing I DONT like is I can’t find it anymore & if I can the same size bag went from $16 to $55 a bag??????????? Why is it no longer available? Was is really bad for my dog & you had to stop making it?!!!!!

My older sister told me bad things about Purina. At the beginning I was skeptical about Purina Bella. However, my dog doesn't like the regular size dry food so I have to buy dry food made for small bread for him. There are so few of them made for small bread. Most of them are expensive. I got a few sample of Purina Bella from Petsmart and my dog loves it. I found out Amazon is selling it in a lower price so I bought a big bag. I still don't trust Purina that much so I mixed it half half with his Whole Heart dry food and it works. I found out his hair looks shinly and nice. He is very healthy. So I continue to mix Purina Bella with Whole Heart for him. He doesn't like the taste of Whoe Heart; but he likes Purina Bella.

Good all around food for large or small dogs. I have 5 dogs of various sizes, the smallest is a 3.5 lb chihuahua, the largest is a 65 lb German shepard, this food has something for everyone. Pieces are not overly hard or large, plus there are chicken pieces that are soft & chewy. Some people say that their dogs pick out the soft pieces, this happens most often when the food is always available. If you feed it only at a certain time of day you can eliminate this problem. I also sometimes soak the food with warm water & add chicken or other meats to it & it soaks well without becoming mushy. I went through a lot of dog foods before finding one they all like & that I can serve dry or soak.

This used to be widely available however it is getting harder & harder to find. On top of that, if you do find it expect to pay a premium price. Both our Chihuahuas seem to like it and as far as hard food is concerned they are very picky. I would like to say I highly recommend this brand but as mentioned it is too expensive & hard to find. I would recommend finding a cheaper alternative that’s is easily available.

I like the better nutrition with this dog food, but wish there was more selection of flavors. My dog has already gotten tired of it after 4 bags. Also they need to sell this in larger bags that will keep my chow hound going. Of course now that he has eaten this for a while he won't eat any of the other dry dog foods I used to feed him. The worst part is this food is always out of stock and I have had to order from other sites just to get it.

I originally bought Bella because my “Bella” a Yorkie was getting where she would not eat her other dog food any more — her brother, Mickey, didn’t care. So, I searched and found the Chicken Flavored Bella Dog Food — My Bella was happy to have food just her bite size (miniature) and a flavor she liked!! My Bella has passed over the Rainbow Bridge…Mickey is still eating the Bella Dog food Everyday!!!
