Great for kids of all ages
This is a great product. My four year old and 18 month old love playing with this tool box. They are on different levels of play, but they still could sit and play for a long duration of time.My only complaint is that one of the battery operated drills has a button that is broken or just sticks. For the money, I thought it’s be better quality. The kids don’t mind that the drill sticks in the on position, it’s just frustrating when they put it down and it’s still spinning.

Great drill set with lots of options
When I bought this I immediately thought, "This is awesome, but oh man, there will be drill parts lost everywhere." Surprisingly that has not happened, not even the two drill bits (which are the smallest pieces). I bought this for my 2 year old, but my 7 year old uses it also, and neither of them have lost any pieces so far. I think it also helps that you can keep some stored away under the pegboard so that you don't have ALL the pieces out at once. Anyway, this set comes with two kinds of battery-powered drills and a hand screwdriver piece. They definitely like the tools and sometimes just use their hands to make designs on the board. I like that there are different drills/bits/pieces/colors so it's not just 50 of the same thing that could get boring. I also like that it has a case to store everything properly, but just know that it's a pretty big case if you're trying to plan where you're going to store it. The only con I have so far is that the pieces that fit in the top portion of the lid have to be sitting just so before that thing will close properly. Also, could be a con depending on your view, but the drills fit pretty snugly in the case. My 2 year old can't get them out without help, but for me it's better that way because then he asks for help and it's not "Surprise! I just pulled out 50 plastic screws for you to step on while you weren't looking!" Two thumbs up.

It's a great toy but the carrying case is problematic
We bought this toy for my son for his 4th birthday. He plays with it every day, and his 2 year old brother plays with it whenever he can get his hands on it. I would highly recommend this toy, except for the carrying case. For shoppers, I would recommend buying the version of this set without the storage case since you will have to buy a different case anyway. I purchased this set because I thought it would be great to store everything in one case. Here are the problems:-The case plus the tools is large and quite heavy. I am afraid my 4 y/o will drop it on his foot and break a bone. The latch on the case is not very sturdy and doesn't stay latched very well.-The tools fit in the case very snugly. I always have to pry them out for my kids, and it is tough even for me. It is nice to have a toy that my child can operate totally independently.-The storage area on the inside only holds the fancy bolts, and there are about 100 regular bolts hidden beneath the white board that are in a baggie. Once you take those regular bolts out of the baggie, they don't really fit properly and therefore the main cover doesn't ever close properly again. The storage area should hold all of the bolts. So you will still need another container for the regular bolts.-The cover for the storage area snapped off on the 2nd day without rough play. It is made of only two little tiny pieces of plastic acting as the hinge. At this point, the storage case is in the garage (heading for the trash) and I have placed the bolts in a locking lid plastic container. I will be shopping for a storage bin to hold this otherwise awesome toy.

Love the drill set
Our kids love this drill set. We bought it for our almost 3 yr. old daughter for Christmas because we were looking for a toy that would be somewhat educational and was different than what you could buy at the typical big retail stores. Our 4 1/2 yr. old and 7 yr. old love the toy too, though. They'll pull it out and play with it constantly for a couple days. Then they won't touch it for a week or so...and then it's "new" to them again and they play with it a lot. It's nice that it comes with both an electric screw driving and electric drill, so two kids and play with it at once...that cuts down on arguments about who gets to play with it.You will have to have a separate bag or something to hold all the screws because they send you more than can comfortably fit back in the container. Also, the case won't close all the way if any screws are left in the board...but that hasn't been a problem for us. Overall, I'm pleased with the toy and would recommend it.

Great toy except for the case
My 3.5yo loves the drill and screwdriver -- his specific request from Santa -- and so far it is working great. There are gobs of screws to play with and the variety of tools with interchangeable tips offers plenty of options to keep this toy interesting at length. We particularly love that it's got two motorized bodies (drill and screwdriver) so that more than one child can play at once. But the case really is terribly designed and constructed. Happy mama covered all of our complaints about this toy's case. We had every one of the same problems. One tip for getting the peg board to seat properly: If a parent carefully moves the screws away from the corners and edges before replacing the peg board, it pretty consistently falls into place.Given the price I paid (about 50% of list), I'm content. But I pity the parent who paid full price.

Great toy for two kids to play with together
I was hesitant after seeing some bad reviews, but I love this. And more importantly, so do my 4 and 1.5 year olds. Having the two drills is great so that they're not always fighting over them. And, I think the case is quite useful. It's held up for us. We also have the Design and Drill Socket to Me set, which doesn't come with a case or drills, just the wrench. While the wrench is cool, the shapes-- robot, rocket ship, etc.--it comes with are boring. This set has a pamphlet with various designs kids can make on the white board, so my 4 year old has fun trying to complete those, while the 1.5 year old just likes using the drill. Good for girls and boys.
