The muffler had a rattle in it, when I pulled it out of the box, so I just resued the old muffler. I actually needed one of the long bolts and nut, and thought I'd buy the muffler in case I needed it on another chain saw that I am toying with rebuilding. You should see if any one else is reporting loose hardware rattling inside the muffler. Mine might have been an one time bad one.

Used this muffler to mod and kept my original as a spare. A little tuning and a sharp chain is all it took to wake my saw up. My MS 290 feels like a beast compared to before!

Parts were perfect and shipped faster than expected.

This muffler seems to be made a cut above the rest of its cheapo competition.

All parts there and they fit. Only there is no screen so don't chuck your old muffler with it on there!
