Fun AND beautiful
My kids and I have fun playing it together- even the 6 year old likes it! And I like that that it looks nice, the pegs are saying to flip. Much nicer than plastic!! Worth the money.

So fun!
My husband and I love to play games...I like to keep one or two out on the table so we can play a quick game while eating, taking a break from work, etc. This looks great just sitting out, but also inspires us to use our brains and spend a little more time together. Great quality and nice to look at!

Great product
Love the wooden game. Prefer it over plastic.Only thing I dislike about the board is the cover falls off. I wish it came with a grove to keep the cover on.

Does its function as expected
Nice classic wooden feel. Good to keep out in the open, kinda like a minature rock garden, except you only have to worry about two colors and the placement of the pegs. If you riding a Jeep or a camel or a horse across rugged plains or rocky mountains or roads with potholes, this is not very travel friendly. On the plane that is not erratically shaking or falling from the sky, this is travel friendly. If you carry a plastic bag with you, you can save your game progress by putting the unused pegs in the bag, and closing the game board. Opening the game board will show your game as you left it. To be very honest, in the regular othello game with the disc pieces, I've almost eaten one of the pieces because I was also eating finger food at the same time. These pegs feel less like something you would eat. In terms of safety in eating and travel friendliness, it's much safer to eaten wooden pegs than to eat magnets. If you swallow two magnets, they may attach in your intestine, which would require surgery to get out. Wooden pegs do not attach in the intestine, so they are safer to eat. You probably shouldn't eat them, outside of accidentally eating them.

Warps
We love playing this game, so we splurged and got a wooden one. The base warped after we opened it in less than 2 weeks. Granted, we are a very low humidity area (Colorado), so things dry out. It's annoying every time we flip the pegs (after finishing a game), back into the tray because it's very wobbly and it's rocking on two opposite corners due to the warping. There's a 1/4" lift on two of the opposing corners. We paid twice what the other Othello game cost, thinking we'd get a high quality product. Also, we determined that the holes are drilled out and somehow there's soot in the bottom of the holes, so the white side of the pegs gets dirty. I've not had the patience to wipe out each peg-hole to clean up the residue, so we continue to rub off the black marks on the white side as we flip them during the game. If I was to reorder another one, I'd clean each hole and then varnish the entire thing immediately upon opening to prevent the drying out (and hopefully prevent warping). For anyone with large or arthritic fingers, the pegs are a bit on the small side plus they're close together on this 8x8 inch board. We'd give 5 stars if it weren't for the warping issue.
