Every thing you would want in a amazing read. It had everything and more....read all of these series and the others...I can not get enough of them....

I wasn't "wowed" by this story. With a title like Rough, I think I was expecting a grittier read. Something more forbidden, edgier. Instead, the hero does an insta-love on an unlikely heroine...and I just can't get into their story so much. Maybe it felt a little too formulaic to me-- Jared, with his perfect alpha name and the perfect alpha moves, had all the alpha characteristics you look for--gorgeous, muscled, commanding, ex-marine...and so predictable. "Red's" character, the heroine's, had more depth, I related to her in many ways--but NOT the fact that within a few days she had a new man at her side--lived with him--breathed him--puhlease! It just didn't feel credible.The writing was smart as was much of the dialogue...the story was good, if again, predictable....The potential bad guys in the story, just weren't bad enough...and the sex was there and may deliver for some--but for me--wasn't bad enough--desperate enough....I guess I didn't feel the love...just a strange and sudden obsession from a broken ex-marine for a shy beautiful redhead. There wasn't enough to convince me and pull me in and feel passionate for these two.The love struck way Jared acted from the minute he met Red was unrealistic. From the get go he treated her like they'd been a couple for years...weird. Even his love name, "Red" was annoying. Her name is Sienna, yet he cooed, berated, admonished, coaxed,whispered to her using the name Red--a love name you earn once you love someone and have established a relationship. I was almost annoyed with Jared on many an occasion with his stereotypical alpha ways, how he grabbed Red's chin so she'd have to look at him when he was making a point, the intense stare he gave her on every page--he seemed to be a mind reader, because every time Red had an inner monologue over some issue--he would be on it in a heart beat--grabbing her chin and staring intensely into her green eyes and asking her, "Where are you now? What are you thinking?" -- and sometimes he'd tell her. Mind reader. The girl couldn't pee without this guy staring intensely into her eyes...yet, when he needed space, he took it, stormed out of the house without a word. Mr Alpha did not have to explain himself--feelings like that were for pussies. This guy was a marine. Ugh.I guess I expected more...the story and the characters felt... tame, safe...I felt the author lost an opportunity here to really engage me with more...explore the alpha's flaws...what was it about Red that he gave up everything, his job as an escort? The "bad" guys could have been so bad, but they weren't, my heart wasn't thundering in fear or worry, because I knew where the story was headed--predictable.And having said that, it was a good read all in all --and I might give others in the series a try in the future.

As soon as I started reading Rough, bam I was hooked. The characters were well developed and real. The storyline was fantastic.Jared an ex-marine, male escort, hot, rough, handsome and sexy bad boy. He's been thru hell, it's his story to tell. He likes it hard and rough 😉 One of his brothers/male escort asked him for a favor to cover him one night. He should have said no, but the innocent & shy girl was pulling him in. So he sets up the date with the client. She arrives and his hearts pounding in his chest and his mind wow she's beautiful.Sienna beautiful and smart woman. She's had her heart broken. So she tries and friend's suggestion male escort. She needs some type of control. When she meets Jared some  feelings awaken in her, she noticed how hot and rough he his. She should leave and be done but his presence and all she goes in this date.The bad boy and good girl meet and it's a wild ride. Between stories of their past, ex boyfriend, arrest, law suit and a whole lot more. From the get-go, Jared and Sienna had my heart. Even though Jared was rough at first, you could tell from the beginning he had a soft spot for Sienna. Watching him fight his demons and her fall in love with him was amazing.

Of all of the books that I have read by this author, this may be one of my favorites. I have an EXTREME appreciation for our military servicemen and women. I am drawn to these alpha men that are broken and have a hard time assimilating back to civilian life, and that is what the hero in this book is.A wounded, retired marine turned male escort meets a preacher's daughter. How's that for a match made in heaven?! Her innocence broke into this broken marine's heart and put him back together again. Not only was there steamy physical scenes, but the relationship development between these two was absolutely on point! I LOVE stories like this. I LOVE characters like this. I LOVE it ROUGH!

Jared meets Sienna when he agrees to take Alex’s (Thrust) clients for the night. She had seen Alex one time previously and she was shy and not the type Jared usually saw. He likes it rough and thinks she is to vanilla for him. But that changes pretty quickly once they meet. Since getting injured and discharged from the Marines Jared wants control in all things and that is why he became an escort. Sienna works for a professional football team and she is having problems with one of the players. This one has a little bit of action and André and his team assists. Neil also has a cameo. I enjoyed their story and I love interconnected characters.

Jared takes on one of Alex's clients as a favour but once he meets Sienna he knows she will be something more. Sienna is all alone since her father died. She works for her uncle but hardly knows him. A team player messed her around so she paid for Alex. Jared is completely different though. He's dominant and wants the prim little princess to get dirty. When her odd family life unravels he is there to protect her.

This was the first book i read from Sybil Bartel. I then read pretty much all of them. I really enjoy the way she writes and the story was really good. I then went on to read all of the others in the series. I loved all of the side novels such as Thrust, Talon and Neil. I then read the Impossible Series that goes with them but in all honesty i didn't enjoy those as much. They are still good and i am glad i read them as they tie in to the other ones i had already read. This is a definite must read if you like Erotic Romances.

Jared is as mean & rough as they come, but the love of the right woman sets them bogh free.

If there were 10 stars I'd give it an 11. This book will grip you from the first chapter. Read in one day as I just couldn't put it down. Don't read this if you can dedicate your life to it for a bit! Jared and Red's story is thrilling, HOT HOT HOT but delicate. Would have loved a bit more though. I read this first and realised Alex's story was first but it didn't matter. I didn't realise til after it was the second book. Amazing job. Well written
