Disney Epic Mickey: Prima Official Game Guide

Wow!
Never having bought a game guide before, I had no expectations of what one might be like. But from now on, I believe other game guides will have quite a high bar to jump to surpass this guide. It is literally step-by-step, full-graphic-pictures, hidden-goodies-included, wonderfulness!! I was able to play the game with this book in my lap without missing a beat. Really cool.

Epic Mickey ::almost:: the best game ever
"Epic Mickey" is pretty darn epic. Gameplay-wise, it tends to land on the side of fun rather than super-challenging, and it has a nice blend of platforming and fighting. If you're even remotely familiar with gaming, you will be able to play this game with very few instances of swearing at the television. Visually, it's a treat. The graphics are not photo-realistic but they are quite beautiful, a really nice blend of different video game and animation styles. The music is pretty darn awesome. You'll find yourself actually liking Mickey Mouse again. This game is really great if you like to exercise your skills in observation, because there are lots of hidden treats, both in the gameplay and the visuals. And the story is just great. If you're a Disney fan, you'll love to see old favorites like Pete, Clarabelle, Horace, and of course Oswald, and you'll love seeing references to different Disney movies and theme parks. My major complaint about "Epic Mickey" would be the camera. That #$%*ing camera drove me nuts, as video game cameras often do. But if you can deal with the antics of the camera in games like "Spyro" and some of the "Zelda" games, then you'll do just fine. My only other real complaint about "Mickey" would be the auto-save feature, which, again, is just another general video game thing that I dislike. Sometimes after the game auto-saves, it can be difficult to know what exactly the game saved (fortunately you can check the statuses of your quests, but other aspects are not so easy to check).I've also read complaints about the lack of dialogue (the characters in the cut scenes communicate mainly in sounds, leaving you to read the subtitles to find out what they're saying), but I actually kind of like it. For one thing, it's kind of a neat allusion to the silent Mickey cartoons, where Mickey doesn't really have a voice. For another thing, it doesn't damper the fun with potentially terrible voice acting.Overall, I would recommend "Epic Mickey" (and also probably the guidebook for "Epic Mickey"). It's really a lot of fun. And strangely heartwarming for a video game. It's one of those games where you're a little bit sad once you've finished playing it, so you'll want to dive right back in pretty much as soon as you're done.

Wii Epic Mickey
Love, love, love this game. I'm a Disney fan and this game is great. I love how it takes you through the different lands of Disneyland (or DW Magic Kingdom). Not too difficult to just "get through" the game, but I discovered so many hidden items I can't wait to play again using the game guide.

Guide definitely helpful for the game...
I bought this for my son, but my daughter loved it too! Great story line and graphics! This book really helps with the game. It can be a bit dark, so maybe not for overly sensitive or easily scared kids.

Great tool
As a person born before the digital age and not all that familiar with electronic games, I found this book to be quite useful. It got me over many hurtles. My housemate and I spent hours helping each other play the game using the book as a guide through the difficult bits!

Sorry, haven't used it yet!
I like the game, I just haven't had a chance to play lately and use the book but in the past I have had other books for games and I like them. It was in great condition!!
