Perfect for your travel bag
This goes with me, everywhere. I have a bag I carry back & forth to work that has anything I might need...a wall plug, this retractable charging cable, additional items I use for my phone, and other stuff. You never know when you are going to end up needing these things.Retractable cords are much easier to store and carry than traditional ones. They take up less space, and they don't get tangled up with other things in your bag. Good, but only USB 2
I use this to charge my mouse and keyboard. It works great for that. But one time I used it for a large data transfer when backing up a drive, and that's when I learned this is only capable of USB 2 speeds, which is not idea. I was transferring something on the order of 1 TB, which was going to take several hours.Why is anyone making a USB-C cable at only USB 2, in 2024? That is beyond me...

It's a little quirky or sticky in the retraction, which caused some connectability issues. For the most part, ok.
