Broken packaging
One of the packed meals was ripped open and the packaging itself seems very cheap. Look for another alternative.

Disgusting
I bought this bucket as a last minute replacement for my normal freeze dried food choice for a camping trip. I could not be more dissatisfied with these meals. They take longer than most freeze dried meals to cook. Sometimes three times the amount of time needed. I can't imagine a situation where time is more of the essence than in an emergency so why have food that takes 15, 20 even 25 minutes to cook? Even more problematic is you need pots or pans to cook many of these items. The need for a pots with lids seems like it's poorly conceived for an emergency food supply. Who has pots, pans and utensils during an emergency??? But the worst aspect of every single one of the meals I've had the misfortune of putting in my mouth is the taste. Artificial tasting, somehow over seasoned but also bland. The mac and cheese have acrid almost medicinal aftertaste. The baked potato casserole is disgusting. Tastes like glue with fake bacon flavoring. And all of the items in this bucket have some kind of awful flavor to them. I can't think of a situation, emergency or otherwise, I'd feel fortunate to consume this food. I guess it would be good to use in dare or maybe as a punishment but otherwise, this "food" is truly disgusting. Finally, the cooking instructions are simply not accurate in that they often calls for more water than is needed making the entrees soupy and unpleasant. Consumers can get better buckets for less with much better tasting and easier to prepare food than ReadyWise. I'd give this zero stars if I could.
