Works well, expensive but you get what you pay for
Sleep supplements are nothing new, and there are no magic ingredients in this product compared to other companies. This is of course produced by optimum nutrition, which is a premium supplement brand, so you're going to be paying a premium price tag. £24 at the time of writing for 60 tablets is by no means cheap considering what else is out there. However, whilst I'm willing to cheap out on random products, supplements are going inside your body. With this in mind, you don't want to be cheaping out on random supplements with unregulated manufacturing and unknown ingredients. The unfortunate nature of supplements is that there's not much regulation behind them, so there's always a risk of impurities or unsafe ingredients. When you pay for a brand like optimum nutrition, you know that you're getting high quality pure ingredients, and nothing else that shouldn't be in there. This is really what you're paying the high price tag for, and this is what is safest for your body in the long term. I think the supplements weren't great to help me get deep restful sleep, and I'd recommend them!

Seemed to have helped my sleep
These capsules come in a nice packaging, easy to dispense and easy to swallow. Recommended dose is one capsule a day. The description does not mention when exactly to take it. I thought I had to take it before going to sleep but it just says "daily". The combinations of ingredients may work through the day to make you have a good night sleep(?).The main ingredients are:- zinc which boosts the immune system, may reduce the risks of age related conditions, decreases inflammation;- magnesium supports the healthy blood sugar levels, promotes heart health, it has anti-inflammatory properties, may help migraine, may promote bone health, and may support BETTER SLEEP because magnesium regulates several neurotransmitters involved in sleep, may help reduce anxiety;- vitamin B6/B7 may reduce stress, anxiety and depression and boost mood;- 5-HTP contributes towards mood and appetite regulation and influences gut function. It can benefit in case of depression, migraines, weight regulation, fibromyalgia, anxiety and SLEEP because it produces serotonin which can be converted in melatonin.Overall, then, there are two ingredients which are actively helping with the sleep. The others may act indirectly.I work days and nights and I suffer from anxiety, so I was looking for something that could help me with a better sleep. I have been taking these capsules for two weeks and seem to have helped although there are other factors which may have contributed to a better sleep honestly. I am sure, though, seen the ingredients, that these are helping my sleep.I didn't personally get any side effects myself. The price is slightly more expensive than some other websites.

Helped me sleep longer, but has some issues
The media could not be loaded. One issue is I didn't like silicone dioxide anti-caking agents/bulking agents, I hate all of them, but 5-HTP is the reason why I slept long, helps raise seratonin levels in the brain and has many benefits, 5htp is man made though its not found in the foods we eat.I guess I can give this product a pass because it helped me sleep more than 7 hours when I was tired I took one pill and 30 minutes later went to bed, usually would sleep for 5 or 6 hours but I slept almost 8 hours with this pill. The amino acids in this though are very low didn't really effect my muscles in anyway, but the sleep if anything effects muscle the most so this product with 5-HTP in it indirectly helped me gain some muscle mass thanks to its sleep inducing effects caused by the 5-HTP.Everything else in it also helpes with sleep such as magnesium and Zinc Biotin and Vitamin b6 also help with skin, hair, nails and energy production. I woke up feeling a bit groggy though still wanted to sleep more lol. Shouldn't cost more than 15 quid though, Optimum Nutrition supplements have always been needlessly expensive in my opinion, I used to buy their products for years.I would rather lower my caffeine levels I get the same effect as 5-HTP if I just cut out or lower my caffeine intake I'll be fine without any help, but this does help if your doing a lot of pre-workouts with caffeine and you can't sleep because of it. I don't recommend it for people with kidney issues.

Sleeping aid
These pills were easy to swallow and I took them in the hope of improving my sleep the herbal, natural way. They contain an excellent formula of proven sleep enhancers. After taking them I found that whilst I still may have had disjointed sleep, it was much easier to go back to sleep and so I will continue taking them.

Seem promising but check with a medical advisor if you take other medications
As a 72yr old male with a variety of ailments which tend to cause insomnia, I decided to try if this source of 5HT will provide any relief. The internet does mention the use of 5HT in this context but it can take some weeks and high doses / long time use of the vitamin is not recommended. These tablets appear to be the recommended dose from what I can ascertainSo how did these tablets (rather expensive at £0.80 per day) work out?Initial tests (one week) suggest that there is some effect on getting to sleep at ca 10.30pm but I still wake up at 3am. Getting back to sleep can take some time then I sleep until 8am. There may also be some interactions with the medicines I take so DO take advice from a GP or pharmacist before you take any supplements like these. If they suit you then fine (at the price) then great.
