If your goal is to use a computer for email wordprocessing and surfing the web it works just great.
I plugged the extra PC into three different laptops. All of them booted up with the keyboard screen and sound working. They connected to the Internet with no problem. When I settled on one PC I connected to my wireless brother printer. All this was done with the drivers preloaded on the USB stick. If your goal is to use a computer for email wordprocessing and surfing the web it works just great. If you want to load other software it starts to get complicated real fast. As user-friendly as extra PC has made their software anything outside of basic Internet use is hard. When the printer stopped working I tried to contact extra Xtra-PCs technical support. They responded within 24 hours via email. But their answers to my questions were sorry we can't help you with that. It turns out extra PC is based on Ubuntu Linux which can be downloaded for free and installed on a USB drive using your Windows PC machine. Ububtu has a large online database with technical support questions and answers. I was able to use their support to reload the drivers for my printer so that it works consistently. this took about two hours of Brain scratching concentration and reading. If you like to fiddle with computers downloading Ubuntu Linux onto your own USB drive is probably the way to go. If you're looking to plug-in a preloaded stick and have everything work for Internet useing extra PC is the way to go. Good luck.I just read some of the other reviews. To the people who say it doesn't work, it definitely works, but your PC: desktop or Laptop has to be able to boot from USB and you have to follow the instructions to successfully boot from USB. I also see that 3 other bootable USB LInux drives are available for less money Mint 14.95, Ubuntu14.95, and Linux 6 in 1 -24.95

Back from the dead
Tried this on a computer that I had gutted and left for dead. I plugged this little gadget in, powered up the system (after resetting the boot order) and I could not believe when it loaded a whole OS experience. based on Linux and very versatile. All the peripherals worked great. I love this thing.

decommissioned password-locked company laptop and it worked great. Was even able to access the old files
Installed this on an older, decommissioned password-locked company laptop and it worked great. Was even able to access the old files. It didn't recognize my printer but I haven't spent much time to look for a fix or use much of the software but for the money, I'm very pleased. I plan to order several more.

It works like they said!
It works! I put it in an old Compaq (after changing the boot menu) and - boom! A new (sort of) computer. Well worth the money. Just make sure you can boot from a usb drive...

Simply Amazed That Such a Big Problem Can Be Solved So Simply and Affordably
At first I wasn't careful and tried to use it without restarting my computer. It wouldn't work that way. But once I followed the instructions and turned off my computer, plugged in the Xtra-PC, restarted it, and hit the boot menu key on my Dell laptop (F12), it worked like a charm. Amazing how fast it is. I really feel like this is a fantastic invention and I'm super pleased with it. I highly recommend this product.
