Dlink together with phone app - best solution
This is a better quality camera in the DLink line-up. I was considering another model, but after using this camera I would not even think of any other product that include any competitor cameras.Setting this camera with the DLink app takes only a few minutes. The picture you see on your phone is very clear with any lighting conditions.I installed the camera on the wall about 7 1/2 ft above the floor. The camera lens covers the whole room and the hallway up to the front door, within few feet from the camera and the image is clear and sharp from the closest to furthest objects, that is between 3 ft and 24 ft for my installation. The camera has been reporting on any person entering the house but since I do not have recording it is usually too late to see who that was. By the time stamp I know it was my son who came and left. I will be setting up the camera with the chip to have the local recording and will report back on how it worked.Optionally you can subscribe to the DLink cloud recording but, I think, chip recording should be sufficient for me.

They connect to wifi and mobile device without a hitch. I look in them daily to watch our animals. The picture is clear and the range of vision is good. Easy to adjust

Not like their older models (not a good thing)
Was looking forward to upgrading one of my 720p cams to 1080. Unfortunately I don't see any other models except 8xxx on Amazon or Dlink's site so I tried this one. I thought the price was good before I remembered you get what you pay for. First you need their dlink app to configure. Used to be able to connect via wifi and do the configuration. In order to install the dlink app, you have to grant it access to your location. Much like the flashlight app that needs access to your contact list - I wasn't going to grant access (FU dlink and flashlight app for wanting more of my info). I might have if everything else about the camera was ok. The main issue is there is no streaming via rtsp or http like all of their previous net cam's. I hit eBay for some older models that actually do what I want. This thing was not worth the 2 gallons of gas it took me to drive to the UPS store to return it. I did learn to do research before I buy again. If this is dlink's future vision for their web cams - I will be with another brand when eBay fails.
