Heart of the Sun Warrior : The Celestial Kingdom Duology (2)

A strong female protagonist who is no shrinking wall flower and owns all the choices she makes - good, bad and gray. In some ways she reminded me of Mulan, my favourite princess movie to date.This is the second part in the Celestial Kingdom duology and I thoroughly enjoyed being thrust back into Xingyin’s world. And going along on her adventures and quests.Sue Lynn Tan writes in such that we are able to relate to the characters and see and feel from their perspectives.I highly recommend not only this book but the first part of this duology too.10/10 recommend for people looking to read about a woman who knows her mind and her heart and will fight to make herself heard.

This one was filled with risks and most of the kingdoms coming together to overthrow a common enemy. It was just as good as the first book, in my opinion, except for the love triangle and the way it broke my heart for some of the characters. They deserve better and I wish they could’ve gotten a different ending but overall I really had a great time reading this one!

The characters and magical realm buildup were brilliant. It's fast-paced and an easy read with mysterious plot twists. The slow burn between Xingyin and Wenzhi was intense, and the chaos in the love triangle was outstanding.Although, I didn't enjoy it as much as the first book, still it was a good 4 ⭐ read.

I just finished this book—and the end left me crying. Daughter of The Moon Goddess were my favorite, and this sequel is as amazing as the first book. Tan's way of writing is SO amazing that it will hook you through the story. Once I started reading it I couldn't put the book down. Though I started crying at the end, because I wanted the ending to be a little different. Either way, this book is still amazing—and this is now my favorite duology. If you loved Daughter of the Moon Goddess, then you will also love this too.

How do I find the words to convey the beauty and magnificence of this series? This series completely touched my heart and fully surprised me. I haven't read anything like it before! The pacing is fast and tense, the characters have incredible growth throughout, and the writing is perfection in every way.Heart of the Sun Warrior did not disappoint. It is a worthy sequel to Daughter of the Moon Goddess, taking the story to new heights. There are greater consequences and plot twists that create lots of tension. The love triangle is so expertly explored in this book as well; I didn't know which way I was leaning for most of the book. But I think my favorite part was the character growth. Each character had their own things to learn: forgiveness, strength, respect, bravery, overcoming grief, unconditional love. I marked so many passages of life lessons to learn from this book.Without a doubt, this is my favorite fantasy series and one I will return to again. PLEASE read this series! I just finished reading the second book in this amazing duology and I am completely blown away. The love story is so beautifully written and heartfelt, I couldn't help but be deeply invested in the heroine’s journey and her splitted heart struggles. This book is emotionally intense in all the best ways, I cried while reading certain parts… The unexpected twists and turns kept me on the edge of my seat and I couldn't put it down until I reached the end. This book has quickly become one of my favorites and I can't recommend it enough. I can't wait to see what this author comes up with next.
