GINTOOYUN M.2 NGFF SATA SSD to 2.5" IDE 44pin Enclosure Adapter, Black for Notebook Laptop，Desktop Computer and More

My old laptop HDD was dying, and I needed to replace it with an exact copy of the drive contents as I had no-longer supported software that I needed to keep running. This adapter worked with a Samsung M.2.

I bought this to replace the 120GB drive in an old Gateway MX-6455 2005 vintage laptop. I already have m2 SSDs so this was a good way to go, but it doesn't fit physically in the plastic case it came with. It was an OK fit without the case, but the system won't boot if it's in the laptop, with or without an M2 SSD.Either these things aren't tested or the quality control is poor 'cuz it didn't work.

Just what I need for my project!
