BD Diesel Performance BD Diesel 1030705 Unlock Kit

I ordered this kit to help with backing up my 5th wheel trailer. I have a steep driveway and have to jockey around a couple of obstacles to get it alongside the garage. Low range will save my transmission, but 4 low wasn’t an option because the driveway is concrete and I have to make tight turns.Install was simple - 2022 Ram 2500 with auxiliary switches so I didn’t need the included switch and mounting bracket. Worked perfectly the first time I tried it.

Works nicely on my 2013 Ram 3500 with the G56 manual. Having 2wd low is awesome if you do alot of backing up with trailers, can idle a heavy trailer around at a walking pace without having to constantly slip the clutch. Install was plug and play, longest part was mounting the switch and fishing those wires through the dash. Looks factory!

Best add-on so far on the truck!!! So easy to install. Took about 15 minutes and the only thing I had to remove was the glove box. No tools needed, I removed the glove box, reached behind where the box was, unplugged the blue plug, plugged in the new kit, put the switch in glove box and put everything back together, done.Put truck in neutral, turn switch on, turn truck to 4low, then wait till truck goes into 4low and the red light turns on, then put the truck in drive, done.Highly recommended.

I am pleased with the kit and gave it 5 stars despite the following: When the switch is engaged service 4wd light comes on due to the Ram computer thinking there is a problem. As soon as the switch is turned off the light goes out and truck returns to normal.

Simple plug and play. I just hooked it to my aux switchs. Tested it out in my drive way. Works as it should.

I have a 2022 Ram 1500 EcoDiesel (3.0L) 4x4 Big Horn which didn't seem to like this device. Installation was very straightforward (really just plug-and-play) with clear instructions, and everything appeared to be of good quality.When I tested it I flipped the included switch for 2WD Low, then pressed the 4WD Low button in the truck, then the light on the switch illuminated and the 4WD Low light started blinking and the dash display shows "Service 4WD System". If I leave the included switch off, I can still engage 4WD high and low without a problem. Maybe the '22 model year (my truck was built in April 2022) has an additional sensor preventing this device from working?Anyway, the product seems like a great idea and would have been useful for backing my travel trailer up my steep and narrow driveway, but I just couldn't get it to work on my truck. Seems like most of the reviews are for people with the HD models so if you have a '22 or '23 1500 truck just keep in mind that YMMV, and make sure you can return it if it doesn't work for you.

You activate the switch put your truck into four low the switch will illuminate to let you know it's active and bypassing the front axle and now only have two wheel drive active and move heavy trailers around or navigate around things that normally you couldn't with it in locked low four wheel drive this is installed on a power wagon with lockers with active I can also lock my rear axle only to get around obstacles.

Very easy plug and play install, and materials seem high quality. I regularly have to reverse an enclosed travel trailer up an inclined driveway, and this modification has been a game changer! Being able to use the low range gearing while keeping full steering makes parking the trailer a breeze, and it saves my transmission as well. Love this feature!
