I like the treadmill a lot
I like the treadmill a lot, but have only owned it a short time. The treadmill is quiet, compared to my old treadmill. Be careful where you stick your fingers when you are taking it out of the box or they could get injured. I found that I could not connect an android tablet to the treadmill via bluetooth, but could connect an Ipad. It was easy to put together, but the instructions were not the greatest. The delivery service that brought the treadmill set up an appointment to drop it off, and then when they found they could deliver it earlier they recontacted me to see if they could drop it off a day earlier. They also carried the box into my house for me.

Rock solid running/jogging deck platform. The UI and interface leave a LOT to be desired.
Right off the bat this is a VERY solid machine. It feels super sturdy while running/jogging. I have had had quite a few treadmills over the past 7-8 years (check some of my old reviews). I was excited to see its connectivity to tablets. Until I found that the program only works on tablets. Trying to use even a large phone will negate the use of many of the features because they are cut off on the screen.Lets get to the breakdown:Pros:+ Assembly was pretty straightforward+ Very sound/stable deck for jogging/running+ Speed and incline are smooth up and down the range.+ Well built all aroundCons:- UI without using a tablet feels like it was from the 1990s- The speaker is significantly annoying in its beeps. Like horrible sounding tone- Fan is a joke. Has 1 speed and for whatever reason its not aligned right and it blows out the tiny 2" hole more to the left and not centered- The app is terrible. When using on a tablet it is poorly designed. Not even comparable to something like you get on Lifefitness. This could be fixed in the future.- App is not responsive to phones (UI will not fit)***** WARNING *****As we tried to carry it upstairs we had to hold it sideways, this caused a strap to come off and the lift shock EXPLODED open. A friend helping us carry it almost broke his wrist. It is super dangerous and I wish it was marked better to avoid. Be very careful and do not remove the strap holding that down under any circumstances until it is in position.****** WARNING *******Overall this is a good machine. I am happy with the performance. If you were expecting something epic at this price you might be disappointed. Thinking that, with the added functionality of the tablet it might boost its perceived value, you might be disappointed. Conclusion:If you want a solid treadmill that will probably last for years to come with very little flash, and you have a decent fan pointed at you, this is the machine for you. If you were hoping that the added functionality of the tablet would be a boost to an otherwise standard machine, you might want to move on.

Good treadmill, bad app
The treadmill is quiet, runs up to 12mph and 12 degrees incline (most do 9mph and 10 degrees), the treadmill itself works fine without any app, but it has only a basic LED segment display without the app. The Android app doesn't even open without crashing -- the IPAD app works but always freezes when you stop a workout and you have to kill/restart it to get it to work again. The app itself doesn't do anything more then allow you to control the treadmill (same as buttons as on the treadmill) and displays a graph of the workout and keeps a history that you can do a basic searches. There's some basic work out programs but nothing like downloadable routes or workouts that you can program the treadmill. I wish they would update the firmware of the treadmill so it could use their newest app with better features/functions but it doesn't seem like the company is worried about their older line of products. If you want to a tablet and have android: stay away, if you have ipad: it works mostly. If you don't care about tablet, it's a decent standalone treadmill. If you want a better app with downloadable routes/workouts you probably want a different treadmill altogether.

If you are already pretty fit and not a big person you can get this 5.7 model AFG Treadmill instead of the 5.9AT model & save $$
OK, IF you are living in an area where Amazon's "Home services" is available, by all means do it!! It is a bargain for what they will relieve you of! I'm not living in one of these places so I arranged a big BBQ and recruited family members to help me. As they were mainly guys, that meant, I stood back and they did it all! ;-)One thing when considering where to put your treadmill BEFORE you start setting it up (*and definitely BEFORE ALL YOUR HELP LEAVES!) IF you are used to running on one in a gym where they're all set up in the open BIG room, in a line, I've learned that I need my treadmill to be positioned away from a wall more than when positioning it aesthetically, as it seems to affect my gait. I feel closed in on the side that is closest to the wall, like I'm going to hit it when I swing my arm forward & it swings back. You'll also need an outlet close by & take into consideration what you will be looking at while running. Also don't forget to get a powersurge protector for it!Moving it was not problem as we just slid it IN the box on its side, on my hardwood floors and had no difficulty getting it into the place/position that I wanted. IF you've stairs you're DEF as it can spring out with great force), so be warned & READ all of the information BEFORE you start pulling stuff out to transport it in pieces, so you don't accidently hurt yourself. It's "hydraulic assist", means that the deck has a pressurized shock so the treadmill deck isn't supposed to be placed on its side, the weight of the running deck is what keeps it from popping up!The manual states: "To avoid ANY problems, you must keep the treadmill's deck horizontally/flat to the floor/ground @ ALL TIMES when assembly!* Also while discussing the assembly, you need to remember to lubricate it while putting it together, BEFORE you use it, so you might as well do it when you're assembling it.The only real issues that occurred when assembling it was some of the pre punched holes where the screws are supposed to be placed and tightened NOT going in (lining up with the 2 holes) as they're supposed to. This would have been a HUGE problem if I was doing this alone or w/ another lady. You will need someone to help that is VERY strong to refit the holes to get them screwed in!As a side note, my previous Treadmill was a Schwinn 870 which DIED after only 5 months and it was only used by me a few times a week MAX, but I digress..Once it was set up we went through the settings, the incline on this (and its big brother with the 3 HP motor, this one is a 2.75 HP motor) only adjust up to a 12% incline, where my Schwinn 870 could go up to 15% but that is not a dealbreaker as I can just go at 12% longer to get the same benefit. There is a brand new model that has replaced my previous Schwinn 870 but as that model had failed for just about everyone that reviewed it, I didn't feel all warm and fuzzy with their quality control so I looked elsewhere and settled on this line. This treadmill has a couple of low reviews for problems that have ABSOLUTELY nothing to do with its performance or the functioning of the treadmill so I am delighted that my first impression was correct.Comparing this one to my previous Schwinn the side hand rails are a bit shorter which isn't an issue for me as I don't normally hang on them. The Schwinn 870's console did not need any tablet to use it, this one does, I'm using an iPad Air2. If you don't have a tablet already you need to be sure to get one that has Bluetooth 4.0, as it's needed to use this treadmill. You also will use it to control the volume of the integrated speakers with the tablet. Its set it up and app went smoothly. This treadmill has a USB charging port so you can also charge your tablet with it.It comes with a good selection of programs to vary your workouts, the manual says there are up to 43 work out options & levels so you will not get bored quickly. There isn't any customizeable features for creating your own workout program at this time that I see.The console itself is fine, you may have to try out different water bottles to see what fits better if the one you have doesn't fit right.A store bought disposable type bottle seems to stay put. This comes w/a Polar heartrate monitor w/chest strap that works w/ the iPad app.It is identical (except for the motor size as far as I can tell) to its big brother the 5.9AT treadmill that has the slightly more powerful 3.0 motor. They both have the wider 20 X 60 cushioned deck & 2ply belt. (*The reason you want the 2ply belt is because it eases the strain on your joints and knees), both frames come w/the "EZ-fold" lift system to help when folding/ unfolding it. There's also a lifetime motor & frame warranty: "Features: multiple user accounts, ez-assist Folding, fan, speakers, hr monitoring, 3 LED displays and 20 quick-touch keys. Warranty: Lifetime frame/Motor, 1 Year parts and labor; capacity: 300 lbs"As I am only about 115 pounds(*rated for a capacity of 300 lbs) I really don't think I need the extra power and expense) of the 3 HP version of this Treadmill as this has all the features that its big brother has, just not the slightly bigger motor.I will update if any issues arise.IF you have questions before (or after) ordering their customer support number (from their website)is 1-855-396-2524 or email them at [email protected] technical support call center's business hours are Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 5:00PM CSTI took off one star as I would've been totally in a bind had I not had some strong guys here helping me assemble this treadmill when it came to the issue I had with the screws not going in. That is such a small thing but essential to assembly!! So be prepared should you also have this same problem. The manufacturer really needs to address this issue, as this 5.7AT model is such a great treadmill, you don't want something that small & easily corrected affecting your feedback for this Treadmill!
