Why do the smaller bottles have Benzyl Salicylate (possibly toxic) as a listed ingredient.. but the bigger bottle does not?

I have both, the large, and small bottles, and both of mine contain Benzyl Salicylate. Check and make sure that you have exactly the same lotion in both bottles, because they have several different types of shave lotion.

Can I apply this aftershave on my scalp?

Hey , I would say if you put it on your face , then it is surely okay to put it on your scalp .   Common sense !

The 12.5 and 16 ounce bottles are much cheaper per ounce. Do they contain the same exact after shave?

Ah, this is the original scent that I searched for most of my adult life. As a child and young man, my long time barber would splash me down with a mysterious scent that stuck with me all during the day. I loved it but never asked what it was. After finally losing contact with my old, Italian barber, I spent most of my adult life trying to rediscover that unforgettable "barber shop" fragrance of my youth.

While in my local CVS I chanced upon a little slot in the men's aisle that had a few Pinaud products. Pinuad Clubman and Pinaud Talcum powder. Well, being I gravitate to old fashioned thingss by curiosity and nature, I bought a bottle of Clubman. Imagine my shock when I discovered it was my long lost fragrance that my old, Italian barber splashed on me after each haircut all during my childhood and adolescence!

Pinaud Clubman has become a regular on my medicine shelf for perhaps 30 years now. And so too, several other Pinaud products.

To answer your question, YES, it is the same product and fragrance. A large container of most products should cost less/per ounce than small containers.

I would also highly recommend their Virgin Island Bay Rum. Another fascinating scent. Been using that one for 25 years now.

Recently, I ordered a bottle to Pinaud Lime Sec out of curiosity. It took me a while to get used to the fragrance. I wasn't sure about it. Now I will use it a couple times a day to refresh it. Lime Sec has a very complicated fragrance. Your first thought will be, "so where is the lime?" I had to Google the product to discover it is a three layered scent. I love it now and intend to get two bottles next time.

My future Pinaud order will also include their Lilac Vegetal after-shave. It was the first scent Édouard Pinaud, himself, "concocted" way back in 1810. I figure a scent that has sold for 212 years has to be greatest chick magnet of all time!  ;-)
