ESV Daily Reading Bible: A Guided Journey Through God's Word (Hardcover)

Simple and for a Specific Purpose
This is a really neat idea for a specific purpose. It seems that the purpose of this Bible is to read it entirely with in two years at a pace of 5 readings a week. I appreciate the 5 readings so that there is either some grace to catch up or some time for reading outside of this plan.None of the books really have formal introductions but that's because every reading day has a bit of an introduction so the Bible book introductions get put into those. I like the single column format because it makes it easier to read. This Bible has over 2000 pages. The pages are a bit thin but I've definitely seen thinner pages on a Bible. The Bible is slightly heft but not too bad and I like the trade-off for having a comfortable reading experience. There are also nice questions at the end of the reading day plan. The questions are mostly fine though there might be some theological points that might bring some disagreement. It's mostly not a big deal. Most of the questions are fairly tame but definitely relevant. Sometimes you are invited to write out your responses on lines within the Bible. There are also sometimes "New Testament Connection" sections which I really appreciate. The physical book is good. It's a hardcover. I only wish there were a ribbon included to find your place in the Bible better. There are also maps at the end of the Bible along with the reading plan laid out per week.I hope this information is helpful. It is for a specific need so make sure you know what you're getting.

A simple version of a good translation
I think the English Standard Version is one of the best translations available today, and this is a simple, no-frills version. The Bible reading plan aspect is somewhat understated: every couple of chapters or so there is a box to check when one has read the passage, a couple of paragraphs of explanation of the passage, and then a question at the end of the passage. In this way, this edition can be used to read the Bible through in a couple of years. The explanatory material appears to be unobjectionable and at times very helpful. There are few other features: hardly any footnotes, no words of Jesus in red, just a single column of text per page. Such a simple layout may be attractive to many Bible readers.

Wonderful translation with a built-in 2-year reading plan
I have been using the ESV as my primary translation of the Bible for 2 decades, and I love not only the quality of the translation, but the number of different ways to read the scriptures that Crossway has created. This feels like a standard copy of the Bible, but it includes a built-in reading plan to read through the Bible in 2 years or 1 year. It isn't just a standard checklist, but it includes an explanation of the passages that you are about to read and a question prompt to reflect on what you just read. The comments and questions are very thoughtful and thought provoking. This is a wonderful way to continue thinking about and loving reading the scriptures, and I highly recommend this for someone who has wanted to read through the Bible, or for those who have made it their habit to read through the Bible each year and want a fresh way of thinking about each passage.

The word
This is a great daily reading bible. The text is a easy to read, size and font. Throughout the Bible, there are areas where questions are listed, and there is space for you to list your feelings/answer. It could have used a larger area for you to answer the question however, you could always start a daily journal to go along with your daily reading. I’m used to seeing where Jesus is speaking printed ain’t red however, in this book it is not. The pages are somewhat thin so you would have to be cautious of how much pressure you putting on the pages while writing in the Bible. Overall a excellent daily reading Bible.

The font size is too small. There is no praragrah divide.
Margins of the text line is too narrow and there is hardly a paragraph divide. The font size is too small.
