Wonderart Shaggy From The Heart Latch Hook Kit, 12" X 12"

got this for my home economics class, it had everything but a latch hook. Does not have outline of the picture on the mat.

Just what I was looking for. Perfect. The grid is printed perfectly straight so no grid-border guesswork.To the downvoters:- if you can't count to 10, this isn't for you.- If the intended user can't count to 10, don't buy it.For those who CAN count to 10 this is a great little kit. So, the pattern isn't marked on the canvas. It's not a paisley pattern! They're 3-6 colors and totally simple. These patterns are perfectly suited to the grid layout. If you can't follow 4 squares that are 10 holes apiece, go do something else.My only issue is the directions. For first-timers: do it their way for a few threads, then find the way that's most comfortable for you.Wrap the thread AFTER you put the hook through the mesh, instead of before. Go on! Go wild!They say left to right all the way across. I say bleh. I do a square at a time. Also left to right is a very bad practice for needlework. In general you start in the CENTER then work out. That's so you aren't handling your previous work the whole time. For more complicated patterns some people do the fine parts first and then fill backgrounds.So, you see there are many, many ways to do it. It's dead simple and you can arrnge yourself however you want.I have hooked before but not since I was a kid. I needed some hand therapy so I got this kit. It's great.

Shaggy Latch Hook Kit 12 Inch - Flower Power is a fun hook rug. The end result is beautiful. It took me a few years until I finally got around to finishing it, but I'm happy that I did it. It comes with extremely clear instructions that show you exactly where to put each piece. Kids can do this, and it's a great way to keep them occupied. I bought a hook made specially for hook rug to use to do this. Doing it with your bare hands would be nearly impossible. This hook rug comes with long strands of soft yarn that give it a fluffy feeling once it's done. Not like other hook rugs I've bought that have short pieces of rough feeling yarn. The yarn that comes with this one also looks nicer on the hook rug. My only complaint is that I was missing some dark blue yarn. The only yarn that I was able to find to fill in the missing spots is the short, rougher feeling type. I couldn't find any of this better quality type in the color I needed.I would recommend this hook rug, but it doesn't come with enough yarn. I like all other aspects of it, though.

I purchased this for myself to work with another kit (the cupcake) that I purchased for a young friend as a project we could work on together. I was disappointed that the pattern is not printed on the canvas. Not a good idea for a beginner or someone who hasn't done a latch kit in decades! Also I did note that the hooking tool was not included, but only because I read through the entire discription. Why not include it? Otherwise the kit has everything and is well-assembled.

While the pattern is very pretty and would make a great pillow we have run out of white, pre-cut yarn and I can't find it ANYWHERE...not even on Amazon! I've been to Joann's Fabrics, checked Michael's and have done several online searches to no avail. Also, this was way difficult for a little girl. I ended up using colored highlighters (luckily I have one for each color of this heart) to color in the squares for her so she could just follow the highlighter marks. It also sucks the kit didn't have a latch hook tool. The ends do fray because you're pulling on them constantly when hooking. We taped it out with blue painter's tape and it held up okay. If anyone knows where to get the exact yarn I need (white, 3.75" long) I would greatly appreciate it! I tried Mary Maxims, Annie's Attic and Herrschners. Sigh...

OMG - I now love latch hooking. My favorite new COVID hobby. And this design is so cool and fun and the yarn pieces are super long making it so shaggy and retro. Highly recommend. Just remember it doesn't come with the latch hook. Need to buy that separately.

Used by a 12yr, she started it but decided it takes a long time. The hook is not included so you need to buy it separately. Instructions are easy to understand and they are color blind friendly, each color has a shape.Hope you find this review helpful.

To answer the question once and for all, the canvas does not have the design on it. Also, you need to buy the tool. It does not come with the kit. I just opened it so I don't know the quality or how easy it is. I will update later.
