Fun toy for pre schoolers
My 12 year old received a real metal detector for Christmas. He has a scientific mind and loves it. His 4 year old brother keeps trying to steal it so we got him his own "metal detector." Now they hunt together without fighting. It does work, but it is not finely calibrated like a real one. It is a toy. Also if you are bothered by noise, the thin shrill beep when it detects metal may drive you crazy.

A fun gift.
It was colorful and the kids love the light-up feature and buzzer. It didn't beep on coins as I had hoped but the kids still love it. It does work on other metal objects. Overall, a great toy.

Not worth it
Stopped working after using it once. My 6 year old is sad and disappointed.

Doesn’t work
It was broken and a very annoying toy. It doesn’t detect metal at all. It would only beep when you turn on the “sensitivity knob” but it sounded off regardless if metal was near or not it since kept going even when held in the air, so it’s detecting nothing. The beeping was so loud and annoying and sounds like a fire alarm and wouldn’t turn off until u turn the knob down again. so that knob was really a on/off switch.
