I was pleasantly surprised at the history of Hip Hop and rap. Good clean stories. Simmons GET'S IT...Super Rich is being able to do what you lOVE..Studies show students go to college to get a great paying JOB and spend there lives trying make enough money to do what they really want....studies show that rarely makes millionaires......Simmons said he SAW something that EXCITED HIM in Hip Hop music and Simmons expanded on HIS PASSION. HIS PASSION for music/led him to great success...and FUN !!! ....Simmons did not have musical talent so he represented up and coming rappers. He became wealthy helping PEOPLE HAvE a GREAT TIME...promoting artists...and some became superstars....record deals followed VERY VERY VERY SMART,,,,,HE GOT RECORD LABELS TO CHASE HIM DOWN... ,,,,,,I add FUN and EXCITEMENT to products or experience. SIMPLE and Direct ..only draw back for me was the print size,,,I have to wear reading glasses,,,so I m loosing *cool points* Russell,,,,maybe edit the next book down and make the type larger.....we are getting older.... thts my tip to al writers make it easy to read and remember with good stories...we can repeat. Super Rich changed my life
I purchased Super Rich at the end of July to head on a vacation in Costa Rica. It looked like it would be great vacation reading and having read Russell's other book, I thought I knew what to expect. Not only did it meet my expectations, it changed my life. I started reading it as the plane was about to take off and it had me hooked from the first page and I finished it before my plane landed in Costa. The lessons I learned in that five hour period have completely changed my life. I literally went from struggling to take care of my family with a modest income to making $15,000 a month, within days of reading the book. It taught me valuable lessons about my self worth, how to stand up for what worked with my personal brand, and the importance of gratitude for every facet of our life, be it small or large.I put Russell's wisdom to work while I was on vacation and had the most marvelous experiences by respecting everyone I met, whether they were a waiter, a bellman or a tourist. As my spirit embraced the message in Super Rich, I developed an appreciation for all the small things that I used to take for granted. This past week, I had an opportunity to meet Russell and I told him my story and shared that I had purchased 25 copies of his book to share with my friends and family in the hope that his message would reach them as well. He told me that all of those gems of opportunity probably existed in me before I read the book and though I agreed, I know that Super Rich changed my life and I am Super Grateful.Enjoy!

A Good Read for the Younger Generations
I am a fan of Russell Simmons and purchased the book based solely on my appreciation of him and his business success.I'm sure everyone can get something from this book - whether it's healthy living tips or business basics from someone who has built the foundation which holds him steady today. I did feel, however, that this book would be better served on someone just starting out. The youth of today with the pressure to excel without breaking a sweat could really learn something from how Mr. Simmons and the folks he speaks about in the book earned their success. Many young people will not accept the ideals of giving and not chasing the dollar but, those that do will surely reap a good return. I plan on giving this book to my 15 year old son.I give the book 4 stars because in the right hands, it could change the direction of someone's life.

From OG to Yogi--Spiritual Lessons from an Unexpected Source
As an avid reader who enjoys personal development books, a woman who was growing p during the heyday of Russell Simmons reign as a hip-hop promoter, and a Yoga practitioner for the past 14 years, I was attracted to Super Rich largely out of a sense of curiosity about what this former young lion of hip-hop might have to say about Yoga and living a spiritual life.I did not read his previous book, Do You!: 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success , so this was my first taste of Simmons work, and I will say that I was not completely disappointed. So many spiritual and personal development books are written from a lofty, even pedantic viewpoint, but Simmons writes in a completely approachable, conversational style--almost as if he's sitting across from you at a coffeehouse sharing the wisdom he has gained throughout his life. The book is laced with profanity, but I imagine that's the way he talks, so it makes the work authentic to the author. Rather than the usual `preaching to the converted,' that often goes on with personal growth books, Simmons appeals to those who might never have picked up a book of this type before.I love how, at the start of the book, Simmons explains that by Super Rich, he means cultivating a rich inner life, a deep spiritual connection, consciousness and compassion because when you have all of these things you are rich indeed and the material success will flow from that.My favorite part of the book was where he writes about the connection between work and our spiritual connection to God. Simmons beautifully captures how our dedication to the work of our hands is worship. In the chapter, "The Work That Prays," Simmons talks about pouring yourself into the work without worrying about the results. Simmons writes, "Trust me, when you're consumed with seeing a material result from your work, you are going to miss out on the joy of getting rich."I recommend this book because I enjoyed how it showed the transformation of a former drug dealing, hip-hop promoting, OG (original gansta) into a wise, compassionate man who seems to be a great father, a brilliant business man, and a philanthropist with a vision to do as much good in this world as is within his power. Read this book and then pass it along to someone who has a vision for their lives, but doesn't have a sense of direction. Super Rich: A Guide to Having it All, shows you how you can have it all when you focus on the inward journey first.

The Best Inspiration Money Can Buy
I bought this for my 27 year old son who listened to the 5 CD's and would not stop raving how great they were. I then listened to them and I can honestly say they are brilliant and very inspirational and one of those assets which you can repeatedly return to when you need an inspirational boost. The thing we both liked is the fact the Russell Simmons tells you of past his experiences good and bad and shows how his actions were rewarded according to his deeds (Karma). The changes he suggests one should make to their life are all things which my son and I were long considering and hearing him talk about them put us on track. Some may say this review is biased as I am a massive Russell Simmons fan (Def Jam Comedy, Def Jam Music, Phat Farm and Baby Phat clothing) and if, for some unfortunate reason, I lost these audio CD's I would definitely buy them back and consider them an asset to my life. I just have to figure out how to sneak them back into my sons room so he doesn't know I been borrowing them again!!!

Catchy
I like the way he writes. And conviction of what he wants to share. A lot of truths. You ll leave the book probably with few new ideas but it is worth reading.

Breaking it down, like only Russell can... Def 5 Stars!
After acknowledging that there must be change in my life, I decided to give this book ago. It's taken me nearly two years on and off to get the whole way through but it actually makes sense. Stick with it, interesting storytelling format but that's how Mr Simmons' gets down. Great read*****

Bomb Ass Book. A must have for any entrepreneur who wants to make it through an organic growth process.
You'll get a ton of grounded advice from someone who is looking to achieve success through holistic means. From his views on meditation to hustling to being a vegan to hardships in life, this book has it all.Doesn't mean he hasn't had his share of shady practices, but he's a person like anyone else, and he's the first one to admit it.Get this book if you want to probe the mind of a contemporary entrepreneur who's made it.

ok read
I like this book to a certain point. Russell mentions yogi quotes a bit too much and he gave too many examples about being a yogi. I guess I should have read instead "do you"

Billionaire theme
Here is a billionaire who actually tells you stuff. Obviously, there are huge gaps in the story, but I like this guy, I respect him, and I regard him as a cultured and intelligent person. I like how you describe yourself and your thought process in different situations, from poverty to wealth. Especially as I used to be a musician once, so I can relate to meditation and sneakers, since that used to be me. There's a story here, and I take inspiration from your honesty. You exposed your thoughts and risked mockery so that you can share your secrets with us. Well done - this is an interesting read.
