Wistiki Premium Key Finder. Phone Finder. Item Finder. Orange

Non replaceable battery only good for 13 months, warranty on 12 months.
Literature says up to 3 years. I need to find my key ring about 13 months after purchase and could not use the finder because the battery was dead. I eventually found the key ring, but when I need the tracker it did not work, so waste of money. Going to switch back to Tile, at least I can change the battery on that even if range is not as good according to specs.

Great idea, very poor quality
I *really* wanted this to work. In fact, I was an original supporter of their Indiegogo fundraising campaign back in early 2016. So far, I have 2 of the Viola and 2 Aha devices, the latter being the one they advertise for pets. I set all of my devices to notify me when they go out of range and when they come back in range, which is supposed to work even when the app is not running. It drives me nuts cause devices go out of range when they're only 10 feet away in the same room! So far today, I have been notified 3 times that my keys went out of range. The keys have been sitting in a bowl by the door and have not been touched since yesterday. There have also been several incidents where my cat was ON MY LAP and I would get a notification that he went out of range. Really? There was one time I was notified my cat went out of range, and when I turned around, he was calmly sitting in the doorway staring at me, as if to say "can you take this stupid thing off my neck now?" However, if you DON'T have notifications enabled, you have to have the app running AND in the foreground. If not, you will only know where something was the last time you ran the app, not where your devices are now (mostly cause it can never seem to find them). To add insult to injury, 3 out of 5 devices have failed on me. One died in one month, one was dead on arrival, and the 3rd died after 5 months. On top of that, you cannot replace the battery in the device, so they are basically disposable. This gets pretty expensive if you end up replacing them every 6 months to a year. Oh...and you cannot remove devices from the app! This means I have resorted to renaming devices to "Dead 1", "Dead 2", etc as they die.Pros:- Nice looking- Supports 2-way "calling" between device and phone (it rings a predefined chime)- Can customize the name and assign a photo to each device in the appCons:- VERY poor range: loses connectivity easily (starts to get spotty in as little as 10 feet) - The hot/warm feature to find a device is borderline useless - Takes upwards of 30 seconds to regain connectivity when back in range - Keys in a pocket or purse have almost no connectivity - Have NEVER been able to find my car until I am within 5 feet of the car (by that time I have already found my car myself)- Cannot replace battery, so unit is basically disposable - This makes it a VERY pricey solution if you have to keep replacing them- Cannot remove devices from the app (as they die, you are stuck with them - also means you cannot sell/give them away)- High failure rate: 3 out of 5 devices DOA or shortly thereafter- Relies on a network of users for lost/found feature. Since they have virtually no market-share in the US, this feature is useless

Super easy to use keyfinder with fancy features, but also some reliability issues - and not waterproof
BASICSThis keyfinder works on a simple and compelling principle: you pair your phone and your keys via Bluetooth, and if ever you lose one of these items, you can use the other to locate the lost one.And in practice, this works quite well. The Bluetooth signal is strong, reaching through three wooden floors or several rooms over in my testing. Also the volume on both the stick and the phone is adequate for hearing it from another room. Not to worry though, it's not embarrassingly loud; think of a cell phone ringer turned up to 80% or so. It's also worth mentioning that using this stick doesn't block other Bluetooth use. Using a Nexus 5X phone, I was able to listen to audio on a Bluetooth speaker and make the stick ring at the same time.Annoyingly though, the app forces you to create an account, including verified email. On top of that, the Android version that I tested demanded access to files and photos in addition to GPS. I denied media access, and found that it complained upon startup, but worked fine. Now I admit that there is a reason why they want you to register your stick (see below), but it would have been nice to make that optional.MORE USE CASESThe makers have come up with a few more ideas to make this stick more versatile. For starters, you can activate a "leash", so when you go out without your keys, your phone warns you. More interestingly, if your keys are out of range, can can declare them lost, at which point ANY wistiki user's app will pick up the signal, report back to the server, and then tell you where your keys are! Another idea they had was to leave a key in your car or bike; this way when you walk away from it, the app will record the place then show it on a map. On the wistiki website, they have announced a few more products which are like the key but in a different form factor: one is a pet pendant, and one is for use in a wallet. And finally, you can "share" your wistiki with other users (such as your spouse) so that they, too, can locate it.These are all great ideas, kudos on coming up with so many fun uses beyond basic keyfinding! Now that said, keep in mind that the wistiki does not have a GPS sensor in it, so any location given by the app (including car location) is approximate, i.e. it can only give you the rough area where the key was/is. To help with this a little, the app shows connection strength, so with some patience, you may be able to triangulate the location.OBSOLESCENCEI didn't want to ding one star for making users register their key, because the extra uses cases make up for it. But here's something I can't forgive: this device draws power from a built-in, non- rechargeable, non- replaceable lithium coin battery. So when it's run down, this thing is trash. From what I'm reading, this is in "up to two years" time; some other accounts say three years. If you're handy with a soldering iron, you may be replace the battery though, it's a CR2032.RELIABILITY(Update after 6 months of use): I've lost the key's pairing a couple times, something that usually repaired itself (except for once when I had to reboot the phone), so I'd say this thing is maybe 90% reliable? Not good enough in my book, but you be the judge. I also had to find out the hard way that this stick is not waterproof. A dip in the pool killed mine. Now, they don't say it's waterproof, but for this price they really could have added an o-ring or glued it shut better.

This device is a very clever idea, and it's a real helper for individuals who frequently misplace their keys!
This is a really sweet idea! Everyone in my family knows how frequently my wife misplaces her keys, and we are also all familiar with her asking us where her keys are at and if anyone moved them. It is funny, but also irritating. Hopefully this device will lessen her need to ask our help in finding the keys that SHE misplaced! In case you didn't quite get the gist of it from the product page, I'll explain how this works: After you download the Wistiki app onto your phone, it guides you in creating an account and syncing your phone with the device. Once the two are synced together, you can use either to find the other. Can't find your phone? Press the button on the Wistiki and your phone will sound off with some high-pitched tunes. Can't find your keys? Put this device on your keyring and when your keys are out-of-sight, press the button on the app and the device will sound off with a few high-pitched tunes to lead you to your keys. On the app, there is even a hot/cold meter to show you if you are getting closer or further away from your keys. This is a really great idea and I'd never heard of it before I happened upon it on amazon. I'm very happy with this clever device!

Sentiment d’arnaque.
