Can totally see this book being a Netflix or Hulu movie!! 10/10
Lately I’ve been reading fiction for entertainment to give my eyes a break from watching TV and this book DID NOT disappoint!! I read it throughout the December month and finished it on the 31st. Great queer holiday story. I laughed, cried and smile. Good and POSITIVE bisexual representation and POC (mostly black) representation <3. Thank you for that Courtney Kae!!I can totally see this book being a Netflix or Hulu movie!!! Beautifully written and the descriptive choice of words the author Courtney uses to describe Fern Falls and Rachel’s farm had me soooo relaxed, warm inside and cozy that some of the chapters felt like a hot cup of cocoa with the delight of Ben’s cinnamon rolls. Perfect read while on my one hour train work commute or cozied up on the couch after a long day at work. The second chance//moving back home trope soooo overused in straight and queer fiction but I enjoyed this take/love story. I like how Morgan and Rachel’s professions/talents collided towards the end of the story for the HEA that it felt natural (Oops spoiler… sorry!!). I also admired Ben’s exuberant personality and am thinking of purchasing “In The Case of Heartbreak” to see his love story with Adam (Rachel’s Brother) unfold more. I also hope the author briefly includes how things are with Morgan and Rachel’s marriage and how their businesses with the Inn and farm are doing. Sorry for the spoiler!!!It does get repetitive at times with Morgan’s inner dialogue mentioning mostly her dad, Christy and “not being enough” but I wasn’t annoyed by it like other readers might have been. She was definitely a relatable character - a woman who has/ is pursuing big city dreams having came from a small town. She also went through some unfortunate family issues that made her want to start fresh somewhere else after high school. The sex scenes and sex locations in this book is fantastic!!! Very spicy, steamy, romantic, passionate, dreamy, woodsy, forest-y. Rachel being a lumberjane that cuts wood for a living and has a musculature aesthetic from it has Morgan secretly hot and heavy for her. Love the build up!!I might re-read this book again next December calendar year if I don’t have another queer Christmas romance book to read because I loved it that much!! Very entertaining story

Adorable, steamy, sapphic romance!
In the Event of Love takes us on a journey through the small town of Fern Falls. Morgan Ross is our main character; she's a Fern Falls native, who moved to the big city of LA to possibly never return again. We meet many side characters in Fern Falls, and they all have the best personalities; they're the small town folk that everyone knows and loves. They're small business owners who rely on each other and the town. The local businesses, with the event planning expertise from Morgan, try to keep Vaughn Enterprises from, more or less, buying out the town and turning it into a larger tourist destination.Morgan, along with old and new friends, as well as family, try to keep the town together and whole, away from Vaughn Enterprises. This love story between Morgan and Rachel is a second chance at love that you don't want to miss. It's cute, funny, romantic and whimsical. I think it's the best sapphic romance I've read so far.Definitely needs to be a Hallmark movie!

Solid, swoony and emotional...
This is the first good holiday romance I've read all year.𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲: Second Chance romance, holiday romance, friends-to-lovers.📖 𝗦𝘆𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘀𝗶𝘀: After a scandal forces Morgan to take time off of her event planning job, she ends up heading home. Taking a charity event over puts her face to face with her past and Rachel, her best friend and the love of her life.🌟 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: Man, I can overlook that it's all the worst Christmas cliches because it was just so good. Second chance? Saving a tree farm? Fine, just give me some angst and spice and I'm set.I loved the story and the emotion Courtney Kae wrote into this one. Morgan's trip home was deep and made me sad. It wasn't "Christmas forward" as you may say, which was another bonus. Just a solid romance based in the holiday season. And it's one of the better sapphic romances I've read as well.Giving it a 4.5 only because I wish I got to know Rachel more. Dual POV really would have been a gamechanger here.𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 4.5/5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐𝗦𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴: 3/5 🌶🌶🌶

Pra deixar o coração quentinho
Um romance leve e fluido. Se passa na época de Natal, o que, por si só, já dá aquele quentinho no coração e faz você querer falar com sua família e amigos que não vê há tempos.

Exceeded all expectations, Worth the wait
I loved every second and every part of this book. 5/5, Hands down, from the witty banter between characters to the beautifully tender moments, set to the backdrop of a small-town nestled in the mountains of California. Definitely recommend, and something I'll read again and again. The perfect debut.

Disappointed
For the first 30% of the book I was interested in knowing more of the two main lives but that never happened. The two girls' emotions and past are not explained in depth and when they come to the realization of loving each other, i didn't understand why and found it really cringe. I couldn't finish it

Sugary sweet, heartfelt and slightly spicy -- a great time
In the Event of Love by Courtney Kae is here! When LA event planner Morgan heads home to Fern Falls, she finds her former BFF & ex first love Rachel is now in charge of a struggling Christmas tree farm. Can a big event save the farm? And will they get a happy ending? This was the perfect first read for the Christmas season. A second chance love with childhood best friends in a tiny mountain town with Christmas Tree farms to save and kisses to have. Gorgeously sweet and surprisingly horny - and it's out already in ebook and paperback in the UK.If you love Alexandria Bellefleur's gorgeous Seattle trilogy you'll absolutely love this - a similar vibe of pitch perfect swooning and a fun cast of characters, with the addition of Christmas and snow and camping (!!)This was somehow my first Christmas read of the year and frankly it was a perfect dive back into cosy season.
