This hat is good for sun protection and the snaps on the side allow it to be rolled up "Ted Nugent style" for a good look.The construction seems good except for the sweatband that is in contact with your forehead inside the hat which isn't sturdy enough to lay flat and easily is pushed out of the hat and hangs loose in front of your forehead instead of acting like a gasket between the hat and your head. The "stampede strap" for wind resistance and the tensioning strap for snugging or loosening the fit are very good.I am using it now in Maui and have tested intense sun light from every angle and it is definitely a good protector and you have the shade you should be under right on your head. I have used it in the rain and had some surf get on it without any problems.It isn't perfect but it's close.

This is a gift for my husband and he likes the wide rim light hat. It is also light weight with tie to keep it from blowing away when we go hiking and long walks in the sun.

I bought a second one because I love this hat so much. I've gotten lots of compliments too. It's lightweight enough, flexible, the tan color goes with everything and the brim is nice and wide.

I love this hat. It's brim is definitely oversized. You will NOT get sun directly on your face or neck. It's light, airy, and very good looking. I need it when I'm cleaning my pool or working around the house outside in high UV ray South Florida. The only reason is doesn't get 6 stars is because my mother in law steals it every day for her walk at sunrise.

To small for my big head but wife likes it .

I have an oddly shaped head where it juts out at the top. I also have big hair. I have my hair is two twists and the hat doesn't fit. I could jam it on but then my head would feel suffocated. My head size is 24 inches. I few sellers have this hat but the inches vary so I decided to give this a try. Hat looks nice though, might need to steam out the folds in the brim.

Everything was good about the hat great sun protection and lightweight liked it so much bought one for both my boys and they also liked them to great for working outside
