I loved both books 1 and 2. Can't wait to read them all.
I thoroughly enjoyed both books 1and 2. The plots were well crafted, the historical details fascinating and well researched, and the writing flowed beautifully. The detailed descriptions and mystery sounding the origins of each sister's birth drew me in. I felt I was there, in Rio, in Paris, in Leipzig, in Bergen. The only reason I gave book 2 four stars instead of the 5 I gave book one was the plethora of pronoun case errors. Examples: "us women don't always choose the good guys," should read "we women." "Me and my sisters were encouraged to be ourselves," should read "My sisters and I." "Astrid, who was 15 years younger than him," shouId read "15 years younger than he (was)." "What if it was him," should read "What if it was he." " A man who I connect with," should read "whom I connect with." In addition, any pronouns after a preposition should be in the objective case (not "for Jen and I" but "for Jens and me." (I can't remember the exact sentence). Did Book 2 have a different editor? I can't wait to read book 3 (maybe with a different editor?); in fact, I look forward to reading about all the sisters in the series.

Compelling read
I have now read both books one and two. Both made for compelling reading but were very different stories. I felt every step of the journey with Ally.Have just read a snippet from book 3 and can't wait to get it downloaded.

so beautiful
What a beautiful story! I enjoyed it even more than the first book. I am totally hooked and can’t wait to read number 3.Ally is the second sister. After she experiences love and loss in a short period of time, she turns to Norway to find her roots.

Predictable
While the historical references are lovely, the plot is so predictable. Am disappointed with this one.

A beautiful story filled with emotional resonance with historical backdrops & fascinating characters
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Ally D’Apliese is set to compete in a dangerous yacht race when she learns her adoptive father Pa Salt has died. Having been close to his yacht recently but received no response, Ally is suspicious of her father’s death and has more questions than answers. She suffers further tragedy in her life that changes the trajectory of our future in so many ways that retiring to her family home in Lake Geneva is both a blessing and an added pressure.Faced with her father’s dying wish to pass on clues to her regarding her family history and coordinates to where she was born, Ally takes the opportunity to leave her current issues behind, as much as possible, to follow her heart to find her other family. This leads her to the cold and snowy lands of Norway. Ally discovers her connection to an unknown singer called Anna Landvik who first sang Grieg's iconic music for Ibsen's ‘Peer Gynt’ more than 100 years ago.As Anna’s story unfolds and the threads of life that bind her to Ally unravel, Ally starts to wonder if she truly knew her father at all and begins to question who he was before he adopted her and all her sisters. As she delves into the Seven Sisters mythology that they are all named after, Ally begins to ponder where their 7th missing sister is?I loved Ally. She had a thirst for life and a can-do attitude and never shied away from the male dominated world she competed in. I was blown away with her perseverance as her story begins with multiple tragedies as well as many personal upheavals and tough decisions. The story was fascinating and saddening but I liked how the family Ally meets in the present day are so welcoming as well as supportive of her in her time of need. Another beautiful story filled to the brim with profound emotional resonance with incredible historical as well as creatively imagined backdrops and fascinating characters that are fleshed out with intriguing personalities and deep-rooted motivations. The Pa Salt mystery continues to fascinate me, and I can’t wait to read more in the series to get further clues as to what happened to him.
