This version seems to have less story content.
This game is fun as can be. The only problem I've had is the fact that they've cut the story content down.

Sadly this redo doesn't do much to keep the game fun
If you played the original Metal Max Xeno then you're pretty much playing the same story minus new controls. The battle sequence and lack of tutorials honestly just bring the game down.

Totally fine and unique change of pace
This is worth a purchase if you need a breather from some of the lengthier RPGs and are able to handle a bit of jank. Story that is nearly nonexistent. Little reward to dialog. Overall a very barebones game you will just play for the gameplay loop. Battles are a mix of pre-emptive engagements which are likely to result in the enemy dying immediately or they can be very long drawn out fights that have a sort of ATB with pause system. The strongest part of this game is the exploring, farming, and getting more powerful with levels + upgraded tanks. There's an OK amount of side content, but a lot of it needs to be done towards the end of the game or done in new game plus scenarios. I would have given this a 4 if the side content was a bit more respectful. To sum it up without spoiling anything this game has a very abrupt and lackluster ending and it basically asks you to beat the game again..and again...and again to be capable of completing everything. Feels like this fell victim to time and budget constraints and it ultimately led to the closure of the studio behind it. For <$20 you will get plenty of gameplay out of it, but you need to be a diehard RPG fan that has grown a bit tired of fantasy settings to be able to see past the pretty big flaws. Hoping this series gets a real reboot soon as it can scratch the itch for some of the Shin Megami Tensei post-apocalyptic world lovers out there

Product is not what is advertised.
I'm sure the game itself is great, the overall product isn't what was advertised unfortunately. I had ordered the North American "T - Teen" version aaaand got a UK version instead. Awesome...

More... And less.
Metal Max Xeno was the first game I ordered in a long time. I played metal Saga on the PS2 back in the day and I really enjoyed it so when I discovered there was a new iteration in the franchise available I ordered it right away. It's suffices to say that I enjoyed it sufficiently that when I discovered the release of metal max xeno reborn I ordered a copy of that too... Immediately. The graphics and gameplay itself are greatly improved but the story and total gameplay have been lobotomized. By my best estimates a third to a half of the content of metal Max Xeno is just... gone. Maybe more. This is not to say that I didn't thoroughly enjoy myself while playing but once I discovered the full extent of what was no longer there is compared to metal max xeno my whole experience ended in Hollow disappointment. There's little to no point in using new tanks over old ones, there's no reason I can tell to use one character over another- and while the inclusion of a dog with a cannon strapped to its back is an extremely welcome nod to older iterations of the series, it is simply not possible to compensate for what was lost. With a heavy heart I must State my firm opinion that if you have played metal max xeno there's no real reason for you to play metal max xeno Reborn. Which is truly a shame because if the full game had been in here it would be nothing short of amazing.

Did not receive North American Region Game
The game works fine — I'm just not happy that I received the European version of the game.
