Ives by Schlage 70A15 Hinge Pin Door Stop

We recently renovated and the contractors installed cheap hinge door stops. Mostly these were so badly designed that they didn't stop the door properly. So I ordered the Ives ones, and wow!! they are curved enough so that they can be placed over fancy door frames, which stick out more than simple door frames. Standard cheaper door stops don't seem to reach very well on more fancy door frames, because they tend to be flatter, so don't work well where the door frame juts out more. I thoroughly recommend these, they work very well and are more sturdy than most similar products out there.

I needed something to prevent a door from opening more than halfway (prevent it from opening more than 90 degrees). This is very adjustable and does that perfectly. My our new wall TV is now safe. You can adjust it a lot in both directions from that, too. I thought it would take a little work to install, but you just lift up the pin in one of the door hinges with a screwdriver (it just popped right up), plop the device on top, then put the pin back in. 15 seconds. And I'm terrible at that kind of thing. And it does NOT change the height of the door, as one reviewer claimed on this or a similar device--that's ridiculous.

I got these for all of my doors assuming I could avoid damage to my walls where the door opens 180 degrees. They are great on the door that need a 90 degree stop due to a piece of furniture or wall. I had to get a few of the boingy stoppers for the doors that open all the way. But these are good looking, easy to install if you can get the hinge out of your door. They have rubber on both sides to protect the door and the trim. Ours are stained, so I don't know if these will wear off paint. But they work great with stained doors and trim.

I received the item as pictured and it works. It's not heavy duty but it works for light, interior doors that just need a gentle stopper. If you need something for a heavy door (or any door) that is likely to slam hard into a wall, this item is probably not the best choice.

I do have a kid at my home who often opens the door way too fast and hits the wall. I was searching something sturdy and small. This works great on a door that needed a right angle stop since we had furniture there. These were good looking and it was easy to install.I purchased a lock washer from home depot and it helps more.Planning to get a few more to use in the garage. Works as intended.

The media could not be loaded. In all honestly, I figured this would come with instructions, but it didn’t so I had to look at the review videos to make sure I installed it correctly. But, it was very very easy. Super inexpensive too. I can’t say much to how it will hold up but as long as it keeps the tv from being slammed into, it’s perfect for me!

No complaints. Paid a good price for exactly what I needed.Very well made, fits well, and works as intended.Only suggestion is that manufacturer may want to include instructions for those not in the know. But it was easy enough to figure out and install without much difficulty.

In order to make the hinge pin on to the door stop had to almost thread the hardware. As you see in picture it doesn't even go on the pin far enough to correctly replace the same hinge. The adjustable screw on the stopper barely is enough to be effective for the application of stopping the door from opening too far. Had i not been able to re engineer for this application i would have thrown it away.

Repeat purchase, was very happy with the first purchase, so bought more. Schlage quality at a super price. Easily installed and sturdy enough for my needs.

Price was right, easy breezy install, but it is just plastic and our heavy door snapped it !

Great door stop. No need to screw or drill holes for mounting. Can be used on any door.

Its just my opinion, these are easy to install and work as design. I do think they are a little over priced.Thank you
